What is your EDC?

Hi WatchCrunch fam! Besides your watch, what else do you carry everyday? For me, I also carry my Walther PPK/s and a pocket flashlight.

Those are essential!! Might need a driver for the apocalypse

I guess most of us carry a mobile phone every day? For me that’s an iPhone14 with AirPods Pro. Can’t leave the house without those!

·

Glock 46 or S&W M&P Shield. Sometimes a HK USP and a Spyderco .

·

A couple of tissues 😂

·

Work don’t play firearms 😂😂😂 but a pen and a utility knife.

·

Pants...most of the time

·

A very sharp and grippy Gerber Gator in my bag at all times. And a Patriot missile launcher.

Not my definition of concealed carry but you definitely don't want to be charged with indecency 😂

Silent but deadly my friend

·

Watch

Folding knife

AAA flashlight

Always.

Without even one. I feel oddly naked.

Going through TSA is a struggle.😬

Keys, phone & card holder when needed.

A couple of tissues 😂

Rough day??

·

My TCP is tiny & light. Because of this, it’s really snappy & not much fun for plinking or target shooting. It shoots well, though!

Sounds like you're ready for anything!!! What's your GADA watch?

The highest crime rates in the USA are in states and municipalities with the most stringent anti-gun laws. Good guys/gals with guns means lower crime rates in the USA. The facts and government statistics bear that out.

Nah man, you're totally wrong.

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/sosmap/firearm_mortality/firearm.htm

Firearm deaths per 100k population. Here's a little red vs. blue for you:

  • Alaska: 26.4

  • Louisiana: 29.1

  • Mississippi: 33.9

  • Montana: 25.1

  • Texas: 15.6

  • California: 9 (among the strictest gun laws in the nation)

  • New York: 5.4 (ditto)

  • Hawaii: 4.8

  • Oregon: 14.9

  • Washington: 11.2

Spotted a trend yet?

Plus, over half of those US deaths (54%) are suicides. Meaning they probably would have been less successful if there were fewer guns around. Using other methods is more complicated and harder to accomplish in a split second of despair. More guns = more deaths.

But it's not like scary criminal gun murders are some epidemic. Nationwide, murder rates with firearms are currently at 6.7 per 100k, well below the highest point in US history of 7.2 per 100k in 1974. So... you're "protecting yourself" against a problem that has been much worse.

https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/04/26/what-the-data-says-about-gun-deaths-in-the-u-s/

You can talk all you want about guns making people safer, but they don't. [Edited out some snark here, it was uncalled for.] I understand liking guns. Honestly. I shot rifles and shotguns at targets in Boy Scouts (Eagle Scout, here), but they absolutely do not make their owners or communities safer. They provide more opportunity for suicides, accidental deaths - especially of children - and they very rarely are used to stop crime. That's why the "good guy with a gun" stories that actually happen are such big news.

Please continue to enjoy your hobby responsibly. But also please be clear-minded about the facts.

Thanks a lot for your post!

Finally a sane voice in this thread!

A watch (varies by day), a smartphone, and either a Ruger, Glock or Sig (varies by day), but mostly the Ruger.

iPhone 13 Mini

AirPod Pros

Tactile Turn Mini Titanium Bolt Action Pen

Vaultskin Manhattan Wallet

Benchmade Bugout Knife

And….. my watch.

I like to keep it minimal and be very purposeful in what I carry with me.

Sig Sauer P229 usually stays home.

I would never admit to carrying a firearm, concealed or not. Announcing that you are carrying one defeats the purpose. Nor would I admit to carrying a knife as to carry one without a specific purpose is illegal in some jurisdictions, especially lock bladed knives.

I find it disturbing that so many think my reply is somehow funny. If you travel a great deal, as I do, you learn to be very wary af how much information you share.

Well, OP... You certainly have stirred up the hornet's nest on this one, both for good and bad lol. This has got to be one of the most commented on posts I've seen on this community!

Yeppppppppp!! I did not expect this post to blow up like this!! I was genuinely curious about what people carried besides a watch. Some of the comments are full blown debates about gun control!! But hey, I should have known that watch enthusiasts are passionate people and they are also passionate on their other hobbies

I'm full blown into the EDC thing and have been for years. Pen and notebook are my essentials and were my gateway drug into EDC. Watches came shortly thereafter. Knife, flashlight, handkerchief, lighter, and breath freshener are my usual kit. That plus a firearm, which I usually don't talk about because I don't want to broadcast that too much, but I do put it out there sometimes. Here's one of my recent pocket dumps for example.

I always get hammer bite shooting my dad's PPK. How do you manage it?

My EDC is a little S&W 642 Airweight with a laser sight, stuffed with +P .38 Golden Saber rounds.
