Seiko: Please Make More Small Quartz Prospex Divers!
My Seiko SKX013 made it back into my rotation recently after a few years in the drawer. I love my SKX013, but (and I'm not saying anything new) but the proportions are ... off. The dial feels squished, and for the case diameter and lug-to-lug, the case is just plain thick.
Enter the Seiko 6458-6000. I picked this up last week and it's taken over as my daily. The smaller indices give the dial more space to breathe. And the quartz movement makes it both light and thin. In the best way possible, I forget it's on my wrist.
I know there's the SNE569-586 (and the 36.5 mm Citizen Promaster Dive for that matter), but I'd love to see Seiko make another shorter lug-to-lug Prospex Solar quartz diver (maybe 37 x 43 x 10.5 mm) in a traditional Seiko case like an SKX, Turtle, or Willard. Take my money, Seiko!

Seiko solar 38.5. Best modern day interpretation of what a Sub should be. Granted it has the regular 3'o'clock crown. But it's a Prospex diver, even has sapphire if that matters to you.

I was VERY close to getting this with the gray bezel insert, the Seiko SNE569 I think. This looks fantastic but I’d love another option with a shorter lug-to-lug and in another traditional Seiko case (e.g. Turtle with the crown at 4).

The lug to lug is pretty compact to me. But then again, even with a 6.5" wrist, I still routinely wear very large digital watches too.

I love that small Citizen Promaster. If I wasn't such a Seiko fanboy, I'd probably have sprung for the black dial orange minute hand variant. TBH could still be in my future.

Something I wish they would get rid of but they pride themselves on doing. I’d be happy if they buried it at 4:30 with a color match date wheel like they did on the SPB317 Slim Turtle.

I like shorter lug lengths also, but with my SNE573, it’s barely noticeable imo
