Always wanted a Reverso or a Tank but couldn't rationalize another dress watch for the price. Then I stumbled upon this Oris 7474 Rectanglar on r/watchexchange. A quick strap change to match the printed dial, and here we are, less than $400 later.

Check out Baume et Mercier Hampton.
That beauty looks as good as a Cartier tank and far better than the Santos with all the industriel screws all over it. The lume looks like it will glow nicely

Don't know how I'd never seen this. Great looking watch, underrated watch maker.

I have a soft spot for the Tank (and agree, not so much for the Santos), but, yeah exactly, the cheapest Tank would have been twice this amount, quartz (no hate), and in fair condition. This older Rectangular is in great shape and rocking an ETA 2671.
AQ230GA-9BVT another excellent option.
It’s a fantastic piece! Congrats on the purchase and thanks for posting it. I’ve also been looking for a tank watch and this may just be the one. Appreciate you bringing this model up. 🍻

I'm a sucker for a Casio.

Yeah, for sure and thanks! Cartier had some truly great pieces at Watches and Wonders, and I think that only adds to the hype around them. There are a bunch of under the radar options from pedigree watch makers. Can't sleep on 1990s/2000s vintage, lots of deals there!
You could always look for some off-beat vintage Swiss 1970s styles like this Helvetia (nee Omega)

This is why I love this site, great recommendation, and gorgeous dial!
That Oris is really nice looking! I wanted something Tank-esque myself, and what I found was a Seiko SUP880. I like it and wear it in dress situations frequently, but I don't think it is as nice as your Oris.
I am also thinking about adding a Bulova Sutton Classic to my collection for an automatic alternative.
Oris makes nice rectangular watches.

I wouldn't sell this short, I'm a Seiko fan boy and love that they did a solar Tank before Cartier!
Oris makes nice rectangular watches.
Haven't seen this! I think Oris did themselves a disservice not properly referencing past models when they released the Rectangular.
Great looking choice. I posted a review of an older quartz watch I have that’s similar. It’s been pushing me to think about a JLC. Nice to see these alternatives. Thanks. You can find my review under #korea
Let's go way out on a limb...
The Orient Dual I
Or Tissot's Banana (Heritage Edition)
I still have a soft spot for the very overlooked Eterna 1935 collection.
Have a look for a Rotary revelation. Still reverses like a reverso, but a fraction of the price.
Longines has nice Dolce Vitas
