If you have to pick a car brand to represent the watch… is AP the Lambo of watches? With sharp lines and sports vibe it’s not hard to see why😎 Wearing my AP royal oak reference 26320OR🇨🇭on AP Black rubber strap it fits right in with the design of the Hurracan STO🔊Having the V10 engine it’s not for the quiet type or those that like to fly under the radar and either is the AP😎

That's exactly my thinking. RM is Lamborghini all over. Brash, loud. Interesting that I love Lamborghini but have no desire for a RM in the slightest.

My pal just sold an aventador earlier this year (his wife made him), to another friend of ours who it turn also bought a RR Ghost less than a month ago. Lambo is more raw. Gear shifts are more dramatic and engine just screams in the V12🔊🔊🔊

Until that transmission gets stuck in 2nd gear in the middle of the intersection with all the girls staring at ya... Happened to us in Bukovel Dec 2021 😀

AP is like Porsche. They both have one design, and boy, do they stick with it. Lamborghini = Omega because Rolex=Ferrari. Omega and Lambo are both members of a manufacturing group ( Swatch & VW groups) and are alternatives to products that have a waitlist

I do agree with your comment around the design. Both Porsche and AP have a design and they stick with it. I heard someone say that AP is the greatest blank canvas - you can literally add any complication and it just looks great (but then again I’m boast)… I too like Porsche😉

I think the AP is more Bugatti than Ferrari or Lambo if only for the Bugatti and the AP’s obscurity coupled with their ostentatiousness. You have to remember that the AP is never heard of outside the watch world, same with the Bugatti. The common non-car enthusiasts have heard of Ferrari and Lamborghini. So to me, Ferrari is Rolex and Lambo is Omega. Only talking about rep here not pricing.

Funny how you brought this topic up I was actually thinking of doing a similar thread on which Watch is like which car.

It could be....Richard Mille is meant to be the hypercar of Watches. I believe AP and Patek to be better than RM though.
Lambo are more like Richard Mille for me - all flashy, glitz and glam, but with little race heritage. You buy a lambo and an RM to be looked at.
An AP is a slightly more classy affair, maybe more like Bentley or Aston Martin in my book.

I was racking my brain trying to think of an old style, unattractive car brand that rich people buy for no articulable reason but I could only come up with the English Daimler. That would have worked but they are out of business now so Range Rover is the perfect match.
