Congrats on the retirement and thank you for your service.  I am 3 months out from my 19 year mark.  I am starting to get that itch too.

A very well deserved gift to yourself mate. 20 years of commitment to serving you're country is a very honourable and selfless thing to do that few people these days can appreciate. So good on you and wear that watch with pride, you earned it 💯

Thanks! It arrived and the wife spirited it away to give it to me on my retirement date after I inspected it… it looks incredible… pics to come on 29 July!

And there it is!

So, after 3 days I noticed this:

The inner chapter ring that holds the indices isn’t lined up with the dial… it’s off by about 1mm to the right. After spending that much on a watch, I want it perfect. So far, Tissot customer service was easy to deal with and already sent me a return label. They’ll inspect it and ship a replacement back to me for free. Hopefully the replacement is perfect 🤞🏻

Tissot came through!!! The replacement came today and it’s perfect. I’m less than  satisfied with the lack of status updates though after buying a $1,000 watch and having to return/exchange it due to a defect. 

It took a week to ship back, then a “waiting period” of up to 14 days while they examined it and decided to exchange it. I ended up calling them on Monday to find they had shipped the replacement last week on the 18th… I guess it didn’t register that they should let me know that little fact. I was about to tell them to just issue a refund and I was going to get a Christopher Ward C60 or Anthropocene (I’ll get one of them eventually)

But after all is said and done, my military retirement watch is right where it should be 😊
