I finally purchased my dream watch !
Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to purchase my first significant/grail watch to commemorate something special to me: a Rolex Explorer II Polar 16570 from 1995.
I'm thrilled and wanted to share some pictures with you for my first post here ☺️

I bought it with the intention of keeping it forever. My grandma sadly passed away last year, and I received some money from her. I wanted to have a lasting memory of her in the form of a watch, and this is it ❤️.

Thx a lot ! I use a Sony A7RV with the wonderful Sony 90mm F/2.8 Macro G OSS, and all these pictures are focus stacked (20 to 30 pictures) 😊

"Commemorating" is probably the wrong word. Sadly, I lost my grandmother last year, and she left me and my sister a "little" amount of money. I wanted to spend that money in a "forever watch," a strong memory. So, this Explorer II is more than "just a watch." ☺️
Congrats my friend and sorry for your loss. I had the black dial of the same model and I was so dumb to have sold it years ago. Got the newer one at 42mm and didn’t like it. Now im hunting for the exact model that you have. I love the dial and the hands are not as chunky as the 42mm. Wear in good health.

The newest references are to big for my little wrist, the 16570 is the only one that can fit my wrist aha. And that's a good thing, because it's my absolute favorite, and maybe my favorite Rolex of all times 🥰
