I was in a similar situation recently and my fiancé bought me the 300M as a wedding gift and I’m so thrilled with it. For me it’s checks all the boxes of a luxury rugged everyday wear. On our honeymoon to Hawaii I swam/snorkeled/surfed/boated then dressed up for dinner and it was still the perfect choice.

Wear what you want, but a chrono/pilot on a leather strap not being worn with business formal is ridiculous! There is something about a leather strap that always says formal to me.
