Also records, I’m still using my fathers old Pioneer stereo from 1975.
Starbucks mugs. I hadn’t even left the country until I was close to 40. Since then I’ve been fortunate to see some amazing parts of this planet. We’re both coffee lovers in this house so I started buying mugs as a souvenir from places I’ve been.
Furniture… we’ve been slowly building up our MCM/teak collection.
Art. My walls are full of stuff from local artists. I have a pretty varied pottery collection as well. Heavy on West German pottery, but a decent mix of local artists as well.
I’m not the only collector in the house tho, we also have a large collection of Pyrex, jadeite, glass (Viking, L.E. Smith, Riihimaki, Empoli), lamps.
Kiss (rock band) memorabilia, books on investing, autographs by Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, and John Bogle. Coins, figures and gadgets for my home office. Other interests include playing guitar and an amateur magician.
Unusual pokemon cards. The promotional ancient mew from the 2000 movie, the promotional holographic entai from the other movie, some metal plate cards and Funko pop!
Same here, but as with watches I've been trying to consolidate over the last couple of years. My living room used to be like 80% records and it was getting a bit ridiculous. Pretty happy that I've got it down to this (with another overspill unit in the bedroom).
Oh also books, CDs, DVDs/Blu-ray's, movie posters... I sometimes curse my granddad for giving me the collecting bug!

Cool! Kiss aren't my thing but I'm fascinated by their marketing game. I don't think there are many household items that you can't get a Kiss branded version of! Have you seen their coffins?!

That's much as well! But I kind of like the idea of some collection variation.
Yeah, I can imagine. Not something many people collect, and designed neither for hunting nor competitive shooting, so probably hard to own legally in Europe. Even in the US I'm sure many people have never seen a TT-33, or any of its variants.
I think in Germany it's generally very hard to legally get a gun, but I've just shot some hunting gun probably twice, so I don't feel the need of owning one either 😅
Into Sci-Fi and electronic music. Collected VHS, vinyl, CD, Masterpiece Transformers, Star Wars, Star Trek everything. Pared it back to CDs (only when digital is unavailable) and digital music/video and a smallish vinyl collection. Now synthesizers (oh gawd what have I done) and watches. It’s all my dad’s fault. 😅
Tobacco pipes and quality (non-drug-store brand) pipe tobacco. Though that hobby is somewhat on pause, because I found that many of the cool-looking, artisan made (think “micro-brand”) pipes smoked worse than their mass-market (think Seiko or Citizen) equivalents, though they look more unique.
Tobacco pipe enthusiasts tend to be friendly, mellow folks from very diverse background— from old guys who’ve been smoking since it was common (in the 50’s and 60’s) to younger hipsters. So I have had pipe friends from late 20’s to 80’s.
That's so cool! Somehow my gut tells me that that's a very nice hobby to get into. Don't know why, but everyone smoking pipes seems to be so calm and friendly, kind of how you stated. Thanks for sharing!
That's nice! Have you got a recommendation for me?
Depending on your view of reasonable…
The Pilot Metropolitan for around 25.00. Anything from Twsbi for 50-100.00. the Platinum Century for the 100-250.00 range. The Pilot Custom 823 for the 250-500.00
No, pinup mags, movie-related mags. I like films with some erotic content, and mags writing about such films. It all hangs together. So, mags like Cinema X or Exciting Cinema or Take in the UK, Daily Girl and Caballero and Party in Germany, Cine Girl and Eroscore and Cine-Films in France, etc.

Other passions include music, in the form of CDs. Are records akin to mechanical vs. CDs being quartz? 🧐
I also am working on a three-suit collection, with too many sports coats.
Fountain pens. Another form of useful art.

That's much 😂
But cool stuff though!
Fountain pens. Another form of useful art.
That's right. I want a good one some day as well!

Records seem to not be as uncommon as I thought.
Sports coats are cool though 😅

The nice thing about fountain pens, is just like watches, you can get really good ones for reasonable money.

vintage magazines (mostly 1960s & 1970s), movie lobby cards (same period)
a long time ago I used to collect chess books, but got rid of the collection when I emigrated...
Cool! Just any magazines?

A real collecting habit 😅
Sounds interesting!

Nice! Cool guitars! What watch is that though 🥸😂
Wow I have a few collections 80s early 90s marvel comics and few baseball cards and old stamps money currency from different countries.
Sounds great! Thanks for sharing!

I started collecting vintage diving gear. Crazy to see how far the tech has come so quickly!
