Wristwatch before you know😂
hello watchcrunch, hows your weekend? lets go back to few years ago when we were young, when we didnt know about wristwatch. we probably think its just a watch, an accesorry, or when we started with a fashion watch. do you still have those watch? lets have some fun and share here, what is the watch before you into this hobby, i'll go first:
- fake daytona watch
i dont know what my parents thinking a long time ago when im still at my 18 or something they bought me a gift from their holiday from china it is a 35mm rolex daytona, have you ever heard rolex produced 35mm daytona? no? good because its a fake watch from some souvenir shop from china 😂. i never wearing it but i found it a few weeks ago, we can't even push the chronograph button i guess its bad and its just for decoration purpose. (moral of the story dont buy your child a fake watch i guess).
2. fossil watch with wooden looking dial
i bought this one when im starting college with my own money, back then i thought seiko, casio, etc was watch from old people and fossil was a watch with unique and different style. back then i was so into wood dial, im hipster youngblood in my college time😂. leather strap is soo wide now that im think about it, it feels like putting a belt in your wrist.
3. fossil grant chronograph
this one is my favourite than the other. bought it when im still at college as a couple watch with my girlfriend. i dont have a problem with it, but diametre is 42mm and looks too big on my wrist. powered by quartz miyota, has a cream looking dial, just okay built quality, water resistant about 5 atm. but it didnt bring joy too much when im wearing it.

Considering myself as a man of culture and taste
I remember being 17 and wanting a ToyWatch in black but didn't have any other colours other than this but I took it because it was different and out there. Tbh I look back wonder how I wore that colour compared to my dull tones of clothes now. I know now it was over priced but I loved that thing always had it on day in day out.

Yeah safe to say there weren't many, if any, original ideas on this.
I unfortunately do have any pictures of this, but when I was 16 I got an internship working in the credit card department of a bank in Muscat Oman. One of their clients was very happy about something that the team there were given Seiko kinetics, which were huge at the time. One of the guys didn’t want his and offered it to me. I happily took it and went home and it stopped working 6 months later. I took it to a jeweller I knew as it was supposed to be an automatic.
He showed me the battery. What an idiot he must have thought I was. 😂. Anyway since then I make sure I buy all my gear from reputable dealers even if I didn’t loose any money then.
