Red LED Vintage Watch

Decided recently that I needed a vintage red LED, time-only watch for the 'Watch History of my Lifetime' collection.

Thought "It won't be that much. $20 or $30." and started searching.

For a known working one in the style I'd wear occasionally (silver-ish), it's about $75-$150. Wow, did not expect that!

Told the wife and she's all "Whatever you wanna do, babe."

And I DEFINITELY did not expect THAT!

DuDe I would drive or run to the shop right away and or click ”add to your basket” then click checkout! You got a green light! Step on it and go! 🤣

This is what I was going to suggest, and it comes in a variety of case colors and LED lights. They are only $60 on Armitron's website.

Thanks folks, but I would like an actual vintage piece.

Yeah, you are probably looking at close to $100, maybe even over that depending on the model. I have been searching for one of the rubber/resin red LED Texas Instruments watches from the '70s for a while now, and I rarely see them for less than $150, and they are in horrible condition if they are less than that. I have also found that it would be cheaper to get a reissue of the Hamilton Pulsar than to get a vintage one in working condition. Good luck on your search! 😀

I'll probably eventually land on a new reissue, but the hunt for an actual vintage has to be done first.

Yeah, I was looking at vintage Bulova Computrons and finally decided a reissue in their Archive series was my best option.

I would have loved to have an actual Computron from the '70s, but they are pretty pricy.
