Tissot PRX Powermatic Vs _

Hi people, I have been fascinated by the hype and the quality that Tissot PRX Powermatic is having.

I wanted to know from you all if there is any other watch I should be considering against the PRX within the same price bracket?

Thanks in advance! :)

No - the PRX is the only watch in town! 😉

Citizen tsuyosa

Pretty much anything else that doesn't have a plastic escapement (low end powermatic 80) ..

I bought these for $180. Sapphire. 5 m wr and Swiss quartz but the dial is amazing. Basically a two for one. The dials look better in person. Again I got both for about the price of just one quartz prx

Citizen tsuyosa

Personal opinion but in terms of looks, the tsuyosa is not that appealing when it comes to its dial as compared to the PRX

Any recommendations for the same price bracket?

Two watches to consider:

Tissot Gentleman: Priced a little higher but looks amazing.. the blue and the green dials look brilliant

Seiko Presage Sharpedged series: The white, blue, maroon dials are outstanding …

I have 2 Tyuyosas- Happen to like them over the PRX - again a personal choice .. the yellow dial one is brilliant ..

The 40mm wears like a dinner plate and the 35mm can be too small.

How would a Tissot Seastar 1000 look like on a 6.5 inch wrist?

Fits quite nicely … not oversized on my about 7cm wrist .. 😊

I would rather just buy 2 quartz PRX or 2 Citizen Tsuyosa for the price of one auto PRX, unless you really wanted the waffle dial.

If you have got a 6.5cm wrist you should ideally be looking at a 38mm watch

BTW - Seiko has an interesting watch in this space (size 39) wears smaller and is priced lower than the quartz PRX and the Tyuyosa Male Blue Analog Stainless steel Watch SUR555P1.. check this out too if you don’t have an aversion to quartz..

😂 see Movado post above 👆🏻

I'm glad for those who like them. Enjoy them. For that price, I'm buying something else. But I won't yuck your yum.

I have two quartz PRXs. Bought a white dial one and loved it so much bought another in blue. The metal bracelet is killer and got white and black rubber straps as well. Quartz can be had new for around $260-300. Hard to beat.

I agree that another good option is the Citizen

The Tissot PRX has made me lose trust in Tissot on the whole. Didn’t expect them to use cheap plastic escapement. Since then I shun Tissot like the plague. Any watch is better than a Tissot with its plastic escapement…. Even a Gucci

Just get a quartz version! 😁

At the price it can't be bea and I woyld say go quartz to max the value to $. BUT, the more I compare them, the more I feel I should continue saving till I can afford the CW12. Side by side the Twrlve for that extra money, kicks many luxury brands in the teeth. That extra €600 or so gives a couple thousand $ in value for the design and finish in my mind.

I forgot that Swatch did that. It's a damn shame they did that to them.

You know you can buy quartz watches for 30 bucks. When we buy from brands like Tissot we expect a minimum level of quality in the watch.

Go a little deep .. you will know they are not cheap stuff .. they are higher techology and gradually we should all embrace change .. I bought my Tissot gentleman consciously and have no regrets … 😊I wish to pick up more in the near future (subject to my wife not throwing me out of the house 😀)

I reckon the Tissot gentleman is a better buy than the PRX.

Buy used!

Gives much bigger "menu" and possibly higher tier prices come into the price range.

Maybe a used CW12 ?

Good luck 👍🏻

They are high quality for the price. They have the same quality in design and finishing as the mechanical versions. $30 quartz don’t have the style, design, history, finishing, etc. as Tissot. There is nothing special about their mechanical movements. I have high end movements in my collection, so a powermatic 80 doesn’t add much.

Quartz doesn’t equal less quality. There are high end quartz watches from Tissot, Grand Seiko, FP Journe, Cartier, etc

I agree I went off topic about my comment on quartz movement. That being said if anyone still says that Tissot mechanical watches are worthwhile even after knowing that they have plastic parts then you are putting way too much weightage in Heritage. Also Tissot is duping their customers by providing mechanical watches with plastic parts hoping that the customer will be gullible enough to accept it in the name of Heritage.
