The Lorca Model 1 GMT Arrived!

I've been patiently (ish) waiting for this to arrive. And yesterday I got the note that it was delivered while I was away on a work trip. My wife collected it, and I tried not to think about it just waiting there for me while I focused on work.

But shortly after getting home, after greeting the family and the dog... I unboxed it!

Flashback...

I was utterly captivated by this watch when they started showing it before the pre-sale. Just charmed by a classically-sized 36mm (37mm with the bezel) GMT - which is unusual to find. With real mid-century vibes (especially, IMHO with the champaign dial) matched with robust specs - double-domed sapphire crystal and 200m water resistance. That trapezoid date window (referencing the Universal Genève Polerouter)! That bracelet with that very distinct end-link!

I had some extra funds and of all the options I was looking at, the Lorca won out. So pre-order I did... And then began the waiting... Reading (and re-reading) reviews. Watching (and re-watching) the few videos that are out there.

Today...

I opened the box. They really did a nice job with the packaging!

With a lovely note from Jesse!

And then... There it is!

It comes with extra links... But it starts sized for a 7in wrist. Without any adjustments AT ALL it fit perfectly... Clearly it was meant to be!

It looks better in person. Beautiful brushing with just a bit of polish. To me it feels like it can easily dress up or down. The perfect travel companion. It feels fantastic on the wrist. It doesn't look like anything else in my collection... Or anything else out there to my eye. I really think the design is just so good!

It's been on my wrist for about an hour and so far... Loving it! So happy to welcome it into my collection.

They've opened up the next order window if you're interested.

What a looker! I enjoy how the GMT hand matches the 24hr marker. That champagne dial with the exaggerated minute track gives me warm fuzzy feels. I don't know if I would have noticed that date window right away if you had mentioned it, but that's a fantastic touch. I don't know how I feel about the domed sapphire. But it admittedly looks like it belongs. And I'm a bracelet whore so I'm digging that bracelet.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comment. I'm really enjoying the way the crystal domes up... It's kind of adding to the vintage-y vibe. The bracelet is so good. Looks great! But also super comfortable.

Congrats on the Lorca! It is stunning. 😍 @mc_fly brought me here since he posted about his black dial model today, which is equally lovely. As I mentioned on McFly's post, I have had my eyes on the Lorca from the beginning for all the reasons you both highlight. Thanks so much for posting the unboxing images. Nice note from Jesse too!
