Queuing felt like a watch meetup?

I didn’t pick up the collab, but it was fun to see. Many enthusiasts in line, all nice to chat with. Breguet, Blancpain, Lange, Rolex and Omega spotting. Pleasant experience today!

Yeah, I can totally imagine this being a blast! I mean, a great deal of the fun of different launches is the anticipation and bonding with fellow dorks, right?

I remember many years ago standing in line for hours for the release of the iPad. While it was a pain in the butt, it was also a lot of fun goofing off with all these other Apple nerds! Nowadays... the process is as simple as clicking the buy button - about as exciting as when I order this from Amazon every month...

Looks like queuing up after Thanksgiving dinner for Black Friday deals at Best Buy for a flat screen TV that I really don't need. IYKYK.😜

·

That might be the worst plug for a meet up I have ever sern.

·

Nice! They should make waiting in line a different experience…swatch could make it an event to make more money

Well, well, well, ... Didn't we read rants about people who are queuing up for this release as worthless noobs who should do something useful like working and earning real money instead of waisting time uselessly in a queue and hoping for a quick dollar by flipping the watch? I doubted that assumption as those who queued up for the MoonSwatch wore some serious watches too. Somebody with a Breguet or a Blancpain on the wrist isn't typically suspicious to be a worthless noob. Might be that they see something different and special in Blancpain X Swatch.

·

I can completely relate to that. I queued for around four hours at Trafford Centre and the time flew by due to the fellow watch enthusiasts I was lucky enough to be stood with.

·

What if I told you that the watches on offer in my queue included a Nautilus and an Eye of the Tiger!!?

The gents in queue I spoke the most with had Blancpain’s. It varied which ones they ultimately wanted. I think all agreed that if they got the blue one, they wouldn’t be sad.

I noticed The Blancpain Boutique had these guys in their window. Made a fool of myself visiting JLC, was looking at a Master Control and Banged the head real good on the glass. They had a good laugh I think.

thats nice to hear, someone in UK went down the line and everyone he claimed knew nothing about watches , just wanted to buy some to flip, I am not the slightest bit interested in these garbage watches. ( not meant in a daroguetory ((spelling ) way just if they care about the ocean so much , when the insides give out, the watch has to be thrown out, so Omega should offer to recycle them.

I wonder how many there were flippers

I’ve done that…. 😂

To be honest, I've never liked Swatch growing up, what with their condescending slogan "Swatch, others just watch" and what not.

But I think differently now. It's great to see that people are still enthusiastic about watches. And Swatch is making that happen. I've never even heard of Blancpain until recently, and although they aren't my cup of tea, I've learned a bit about their history, which I find fascinating.

Since this was in Covent Garden, it was mostly office workers. White or blue shirts, suits. Maybe they were flippers but at least ones that were excited by the collection itself.
