I went for C, but it was difficult choice. You see, if the watch in question is available with both movements, I would always go for the auto if the price difference wasn't too much. That said, a sensible person would always have a quartz, but most of us on here aren't sensible
I like both. There is something "special" about automatic. But I really like the set it and forget it of quartz. Plus quartz are typically much more accurate.
At the moment I'm happy with my 4 automatics. Might get one more this year, but in no rush. Whereas I'm planning on getting another quartz.
I am coming back around to quartz, the convenience beats any "soul" a mechanical movement has. I'm not against mechanical movements, I've got more of them than quartz, but for me they're no longer a selling point over quartz.
For a dress watch, something for special occasions automatic. For an every day watch like work, meeting up with people, grocery shopping both are good. For a beater, something i dont have to worry about, something i can use for outdoor activities quartz.
I have 6 watches on my want list and they are all mechanical however I lust after a citizen with a 0100 movement. To have the most accurate non connected watch in the world…yes please!

Genuinely preferring quartz at the moment. I like knowing I’m on exactly the right time. The Grand Seiko 9F even ticks in a satisfying way.

One a three hander I like an automatic better. But I'm a mechanical engineer. I have to say that 😂.
