Recently Watchfinder hosted a watch meet event here in Seattle and I had the opportunity to join in on the fun (and also meet the awesome @Max to talk shop and cameras)
But the star of the show of course had to be Mr. Talking Hands himself, @AndrewMorgan! They say you should never meet your heroes. And you know what? Those people have no idea what they're talking about ๐
I had the most amazing time hanging out with everyone at the event, and a few days later had the privilege of giving Andrew, his wife, and a few of my close friends a tour of the Halo Museum. I'm still beaming ear to ear!
I know many of you will resonate with this - but sometimes we need distractions in our lives. Something we can shift our attention to, dive deep and refocus our energy towards. Andrew and his watch content both on Watchfinder and his own channel have done just that for me. They've helped me through some tough times, and in the process I've learned a ton - both in relation to watches, history, and even videography.
So being able to meet someone that's helped in ways they'd never otherwise know was amazing, and even better, being able to give back in ways that they'd enjoy means even more. So I guess this is a cheesy post, but also a reminder that this community has had a positive impact on me outside of just "collecting watches" because it's introduced me to some awesome people. Awesome people like you ๐
Stay tuned for a little recap video of the Watchfinder event, and thanks again for everything!

@AndrewMorgan needs tagging for this!
I'm very envious of the awesome time you all had together! โค Getting out and meeting people is what it's all about and it's making me long for the next UK meetup.

Oops! I didn't know Andrew was a WC member! I edited the post and tagged him ๐ but thank you for tagging him as well and for the kind words! The more I get involved with the watch world the clearer it becomes that much like life, it's the journey and the friends made along the way that make the actual watch acquisition itself all the more special ๐ค
Agreed, Iโm sure weโll see an update from @Max soon enough ๐
It was great to meet you and the watch peeps of NY and Seattle. Thank you so much for your hospitality and for generally being a good friend!

It was my absolute pleasure - the watch world needs more bright spots like you! Keep shining, you never know who you'll inspire next ๐ค

Likewise, hope to see you again soon
Both super super jealous and happy for you!! ๐ Andrew Morgan before he started his own YouTube channel had such great content with his talking hands and use of clever, witty British language/humor. I still tune into Watchfinder where heโs still either hands or microphone๐! A huge fan! Again, very happy for you!! ๐โค๏ธ

He's super personable, funny, and chill. Not to mention a compendium of watch knowledge and fun facts! More importantly he's a kind human who is very approachable and has a genuine interest in all things that make up our shared hobby. I find his personal channel and Watchfinder videos interesting so I watch both ๐
