Cartier Tank - transcending time/gender/class
Having had the Cartier Tank Must XL WSTA0040 for a while now, I figured it was time I put together an overview. Although often overused by us watch nerds, the phrase "timeless icon" applies SO much to this watch, I don't even feel bad saying it. And the thing that makes me the saddest is that a lot of people relegate Cartier as a "fashion brand" and don't take the time to dig into it a bit more - so I made the video below. This was my excuse for shooting some macro footage 😂
Also shoutout to my friend, Enzo, who was kind enough to loan me his Cartier Tank Must Large so I could compare the Large and XL in the video 👍

Iconic is an apt descriptor, as are timeless and elegant.
Being a fashion brand never comes to my mind, as Michael Kors and Kate Spade do.

I wasn't directly tying Cartier to "great watchmaking" in my mind prior to familiarizing myself with the brand, but I agree, they never felt like they were Michael Kors, Kate Spade (I actually talk about this very thing in the video haha!)
