We had a RedBar Meetup this afternoon with almost two dozen guys and it was such a fun time. I ran into a guy wear the very same 126720VTNR on Jubilee. This watch looks so good out in the wild! #rolex #gmtmaster2 #sprite #destro #collecting #wruw

Finally got the picture of both of us wearing our Sprites on Jubilee!

Would be interesting to go to one of those Red Bar things. I wouldn’t bring much tho. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t like people touching their stuff without asking lol

Joining our RedBar group is like becoming part of a close-knit family, where we stand as brothers in arms, united by our passion for watches. I must admit, I’m usually quite protective of my collection, to the point where I insist on gloves for anyone wanting a closer look at these treasures during our meetings. It’s a habit of mine to bring multiple pairs, ensuring everyone can share in the experience safely and respectfully. However, there’s no pressure to bring an extensive collection to our gatherings. Some attendees bring just one or two watches, like the individual who showcased his wrist-worn Tudor and a fascinating Baltic Tri-Compax Chronograph.

What truly matters in our group is the mutual respect and care we show towards each other’s watches. It’s a testament to the trust we’ve built that I’ve gradually become more comfortable with allowing others to handle my watches, provided they wear gloves. This shift from my initial stance—where my watches were for eyes only, securely kept in their case—marks significant personal growth, highlighted by someone who recently noted how much more open I’ve become over the last year.

So, if you’re new to our circle, feel free to start small. Bring a ‘beater’ watch if that makes you comfortable. It’s all about easing into the group and getting to know everyone. As trust builds, you’ll find yourself more open to sharing and engaging in deeper ways. After all, our meetups are less about showcasing and more about connecting over our shared love for horology, discussing our collection strategies, and setting goals for the future. It’s a social gathering at its heart, aimed at fostering bonds through our shared passion.

I always regret not taking more photographs at these events. I didn’t take any photos today! I’m relying on other people to send me photos of the event. 😩😫

I’ll be honest… it’s not that deep for me haha. I would just want to hang out and chat about watches. But I understand the close relationships helping the feeling of security.

btw, do Red Bar members collectively pay for security or something at these kinds of events? I’ve always been curious about that.

Security concerns are virtually non-existent for our gatherings, thanks in large part to our careful selection of venues. We typically choose private and esteemed locations such as thoroughbred societies, country clubs, upscale restaurants, or the private residences of our members. For instance, this evening’s event took place in a member’s Seltzer Bar located downtown. He generously reserved his exclusive event space in a loft above the main bar, providing us with a perfect blend of privacy and ambiance.

Additionally, our sense of ease is bolstered by the fact that we’re situated in a state known for its safety, particularly in the Midwest. This environment not only fosters a relaxed atmosphere for our meetings but also allows us to focus fully on the enjoyment and appreciation of our shared interests without the distraction of security concerns.

I’m currently awaiting some photos from a friend. Regrettably, I didn’t capture any moments myself, as I was thoroughly immersed in our conversations. 😩😫😕😬

Fair enough Paul. I’m sure you had a great time and got to check out some great watches too!

Such a pleasure I’m sure to run into another brother sporting the same watch.

Looks like lots of fun💚

Thanks for sharing Paul
