Haha yeah that's a common criticism of this watch. However I don't mind it at all as it leaves the lume looking proportionate and extremely nice. I don't know how to take a proper lume photo so I will reference one that I saw on Instagram:
I got the Alpine Eagle recently and it is superbly built. It works great as my daily, and I just love that dial! On several reviews/articles, the St. Moritz and Alpine Eagle descendants were "tailor-made for looking good while living well – not for driving, flying, or driving." So I suppose it is a fashion watch 😉

I'm admittedly the former - I buy watches mainly based on my own view of the brand and the aesthetics of the model. Don't have any significant interest in tool watches/complications!
That said, I do really like the Doxa Sub 300T as well as a few chronographs.
