I got myself a Discontinued JDM G-Shock 'Arnie'

Despite my journey on how many G-Shocks I own, I have only 2 and nothing crazed about more for me.

However, there's something different about this one particularly; I love it. Seeing it to me as it gives me more futuristic vibes than the rest I currently own.

It is hard to pick one of these in NOS condition these days. Luckily, I was able to pick mine up on Ebay Pre-Owned at a price that fits within my budget.

These are one of the few models that may have been mentioned or rarely heard of, so I decided to see for myself how good it really is.

'It's Alive!'

The condition is not that perfect. However, it remains justifiable to continue collecting. It didn't display the time at first glance. I needed to recharge it using a solar power charger specially designed for watches. I'm relieved to see that it's still functioning after a few hours!

This is a 2006 version reissue of the 1985 Model that Arnold Schwarzenegger wore in Running Man (1987).

I stumbled upon this extraordinary gem by sheer chance.

The fact that it maintains a 1980s design that outshines the original G-Shock in terms of its captivating retro aesthetics and unparalleled durability has always captivated my imagination. I like how the red pushes are more accessible to design compared to your tiny steel buttons which you can get in common. (It's still hard to get it click right..)

I actually discovered this timepiece for the first time while watching TGV Urban Gentry's video on G-Shock watches. It caught my attention because it appears to be a Japanese Domestic Market piece. After delving into the older models showcased in the catalog, my curiosity was wanting more for further exploration.

This timepiece has truly engulfed me in its alluring aura, igniting my creativity with its futuristic essence. It effortlessly evokes a dystopian world, reminiscent of the visually stunning themes seen in movies like Blade Runner, cyberpunk anime, and captivating video games that you might be familiar with.

With that, I just love the look, feel and design of it. I really hope that G-Shock would consider creating a reissue of this type of older models again. Such as the 5500 Series.

This shows that for us, we are truly delighted with G-Shock(s) reasonable sizes on our wrists. Chunkier, tougher, and octagon-shaped case, this G-Shock model deserves a comeback, as it has the potential to surpass smartwatches, including the Apple Watch. Its impressive features and cool aesthetics make it stand out from the crowd and prove that it still has a lot to offer.

Without a doubt, it is paramount to thoroughly explore the vast array of potential dystopian futures depicted in the realm of futuristic digital watches.

I must admit, I am still utterly fascinated by this unique timepiece adorning my wrist.

Will definitely keep treating this lightly for the long term.

Love that watch. I’ve seen those too but never could find one on eBay in the US. Also the running man is a great movie.
