SOTC

I recently joined WC and was asked to post a SOTC which I planned on doing eventually but figured I’d get it out of the way.

As I mentioned in my introductory post I have 8 watches in rotation and I have a self imposed limit of 1 watch per brand to try to keep my smallish collection as diverse as possible. Years ago I had a box full of Seikos and I’m trying to prevent that from happening again.

Without further ado, my SOTC…

*Sinn 104 - I lusted after this for years before pulling the trigger. Did not disappoint. Strap monster.

*Oris Aquis - Like the Sinn, this was a long time consideration. The dial is spectacular in the sunlight.

*Tudor Black Bay 41 - When Tudor released the BB36 it was the perfect everyday watch for me, until I tried it on. Way too small for my 7.25” wrist. A year later they released the BB41. Never gave it a second thought.

*Hamilton Intramatic Chrono H - A wedding anniversary gift from my wife, and just like with her it was love at first sight. I love the vintage look and feel without the vintage headaches.

*Stowa Marine Klassik - This serves as my dress watch and unfortunately I don’t wear it as much as I’d like. I’m a sucker for thermally blued hands on a pure white dial, and this one hits me in the feels.

*Seiko SUR307 - My grab and go quartz. Funny that I’ve owned dozens of Seikos over the years and this is the one I settled on. Value is off the charts, especially for what I paid. I’ve thought about a Grand Seiko 9F but for me that’s a bit more than I’d like to spend for a grab and go piece. For now anyway.

*CWC Royal Navy Diver - My latest acquisition. It is the Yin to the Aquis’ Yang.

*Casio G-Shock GW5000 - GShock is what got me started in watches. I love them, especially the squares. I’ve owned more than I could ever count and for me it doesn’t get any better than the GW5000u on a combi bracelet. G-Shock perfection.

Not pictured with the core 8 is my fathers pocket watch left to me when he passed and a Timex Expedition digital I wear when sleeping. I’d like to say my GShock is my beater but to be fair I’d rather the Timex got beat up instead of my GW5000.

Thats all folks. No plans on any additions or subtractions. For now.

Great collection, the Sinn and CWC are my pick of the bunch 🔥

Very nice collection. The SUR307 is the sleeper in that collection. Where did you source that strap? Looks sharp!

Thank you. The CWC has only been here for a week but I’ve had a hard time taking it off.

Very nice collection - the one watch per brand approach really appeals to me. I like the Hamilton and Stowa best but they’re all good.

Really nice collection. So, if you HAD to narrow it to three...
