Hello and a bit about me
I’ve been into watches since my teens in the 80s and 90s and Casio / G-Shock were my first loves.
I’d say I fell down the rabbit hole and started building a watch collection about 10-12 years ago. At one time my collection grew to over 30 pieces and I’ve been able to reduce it to 10 (8 in rotation) which is my self imposed limit. I’ve gone through the buy/sell cycle and I’m hoping I’ve finally jumped off the merry go round.
I consider myself a check off the boxes type collector who likes having one watch from each of 8 categories: Everyday, dress diver, tool diver (one cannot have just one diver), pilot/field, complication, dress, grab and go, beater.
My preferences: While colorful dials attract me and I appreciate them, I always end up preferring black, white, blue and silver. I prioritize symmetry, legibility, and versatility. Brand heritage is important to me and I’m not much for “homage” watches. Finally, nothing kills a watch for me faster than a poorly placed date window, or worse, one that shouldn’t be there at all.
Each of us have our own journey and preferences and if yours isn’t like mine that’s awesome! You do you. It would be really boring if everyone liked the same things.

I have a similar self-imposed rule of having maximum of six watches in core collection - dress, business, smart sport, sport x 2, and fun.
Since I joined the crunchers a year ago I’ve been constantly fighting with myself trying to find excuses to add more categories. I have managed to add only one - the “Fun” category.
This place is the last place you want to be if you want to continue to be disciplined. I warned you 😁🐰 🕳️
