What's the water resistance rating?

Edit:  beautiful combination of strap and watch. Yes to all of it.  When I think of Hamilton I don't think of field watches.

American Hamilton is best Hamilton. This really shows the devolution of watches. Who now can make an intriguing number or hand set like that, or a proper narrow crown, much more a hinged lug? And all in a size that does not even attempt to overpower the wrist!

I agree with @OscarKlosoff. American Hamilton produced some of the best-looking pieces that historical horology had to offer. This Wilshire is a prime example of what they were doing and how good they were at doing it.

Excellent piece @SiHawk! 🤝

classic charm there. your a lucky guy.

I love the pre war Hamiltons. Especially the 1941 catalog. My 1941 Boulton is one of the most special watches in my collection. And when you stop to think about what Hamilton was doing in 1942, it makes the 1941 offerings all the more special.

Zero water resistance I presume. I keep it dry and avoid splashes when I wear it. 👍🏻

I am pretty sure he was joking. Generations of people managed to keep a non water resistant watch running for over four score years. This used to be common sense handling.*

*So far none of my dead family drawer finds have been revealed to have rusty innards.

Thank you for the feed back!  I was replying tongue in cheek. 😜

I try to keep all my watches dry, except newer dive watches... we've all seen nice vintage watches destroyed by water intrusion.

Best regards!

I'm new to collecting and as such my only experience of Hamiltons is the khaki field mechanical which I bought and do really like.

When choosing a field watch I was attracted to Hamiltons history and the fact that it was originally American. As I learn more I'm realising the tremendous back catalogue this brand has as seen here! A fabulous old watch..
