A strap success?
Anyone reading some of my previous posts will know I have a huge problem with trying to find the right strap for some of my watches. This Seiko was one in question.
But having picked up a strap from WatchGecko I’m pretty pleased with the result.
It’s just long enough - I have it on the second hole and it only just tucks into the keeper. I also put the Seiko buckle off the old strap onto it.

It was the stitching that drew me to it, but it was one of those things that was difficult to make sure of on screen. Really pleased with it when it arrived and matched perfectly.
The strap certainly marries the watch itself, nice combination of colours.

I was never happy with the strap it came with and when one of the keepers broke I was forced into action. Actually only took me two attempts for this watch 😀

Have you ever bought a strap for one watch but it fit another watch better? I have one watch I have been searching for a strap to go with it, but have not had any success yet. I have tried about six straps with it, but none have worked, and about three of them wound up being perfect for another watch. 😂

I haven’t no although did have one strap, bought for a certain watch, that has ended up on another……though I don’t like it so its only temporary 😂

Here is a strap I got for a different watch. I got this brown suede strap for a blue dial Orient Star watch, but it didn't work with that one. It wound up on this green dial Timex Marlin and is the perfect strap for it! 😂

This post gave me an idea so I tried a strap I’d bought for another watch, tried on others and even tried to sell it on eBay, a go on a watch I never even considered it for. I even tried to sell the watch on eBay at one point, but then had second thoughts! I’m pretty pleased with the result.

Here is one I am trying. I bought the strap for a Citizen Promaster Land, but wound up giving that watch to one of my brothers, and he wanted to original rubber strap on it. So, i wound up with a red canvas strap with a black buckle. Not an easy strap to match to another watch. Then there is the watch; a Timex Expedition Gallatin. I have struggled to find the right strap for this watch, and I have tried a number of them. Seeing your post about matching a strap to an unexpected watch got me thinking, so I matched the red canvas strap to the Timex Gallatin. I think it works.

You know with that pop of yellow, the black/yellow Barton would go well with it……that’s not say that this canvas one doesn’t, especially if you’ve got the black buckle underneath too 👌🏻
