Well there's something you don't see everyday

Hello you beautiful people!

I've got another charity shop find that some of you may find interesting. A late 1960s early 1970s Raketa powered Sekonda pocket watch, still in the original box. This is in gorgeous condition, potentially because the gentleman who owned it didn't want too damage his 'nice watch' and so left it sitting in a drawer for 50 years. This is a very nice piece and has been added to my 'dress watches'.

Also, I've never seen an attachment mechanism like this one before, is it to put through a button hole? It is the same diameter as a button so possibly, but then I wouldn't be able to use that button hole.

Anyway, just wanted to show off the packaging really, most vintage watches don't come with the packaging so this was a nice treat.

It is for the button hole on your vest. You have a vest, right?

(Nice pick-up, by the way.)

Oh a lapel hole. Thank you!

I've probably got one lying about somewhere. I went through a phase of trying to be Sherlock Holmes so I've still got a load of stuff lying about :)

No, regular buttonhole in the vest.

Very nice pocket watch. Very good when you need to wear your good suit, I'd say.
