Asking for authenticity

Hello guys, I'm new here and I'm certainly new to watch collecting world. I came across this watch online for sale but I don't know much about the brand and I don't even know if this is authentic. It is just being sold as a second hand watch without box and papers and hopefully someone here can provide me with some info about it. Really appreciate your help. Thanks!

Hopefully one of the Panaristi will come along soon and tell you. I've no idea , sorry.

Good luck, it's a handsome piece. 😉

Have you tried searching on google for the reference number to see if there are forums which gives you an insight?

That’s a whopper of a first watch. I suggest cutting your teeth on a Seiko or an Orient.

What do the other side of the lugs look like. All panerai use screws to hold the strap on. They also will never be in the same side to unscrew. looking at the lugs, it does not look authentic. Ive have and have sold many Panerai, and to me the movement is not right. They are stainless in color and do no color their movements gold. I would stay clear.

It is a beautiful piece, that's why it's such a shame if it's a fake. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Closest i can find is PAM 090. Since this is the closest yet still not quite the same with the picture i posted I decided not to look further and just avoid it. 😶

I actually have a Seiko 5kx 😅. Reason for me to get this watch is just to restore it somewhere and try selling it for a proper price.

Think I am going down the route of a fake, don’t touch it. The 6 is wrong. Panerai 6 both in applied and sandwich dial never meet, always a gap. Crystal looks odd also. The strap looks like it’s come from Etsy! Unless you can confirm the numbers on the back of the case don’t touch it.

I had a "homage" watch like that from Hong Kong, hard to distinguish from real thing. Kept good time too gave it to my mate who was into Panerai, must admit love the look of Luminator's too. If from ebay etc be careful no one will give away a real one cheap (even homage one's cost a bit)...safest to walk away unless checked by expert in flesh preferably. No on back implies it's no.35 of 2000 limited edition..if too good to be true...
