๐ forgive me, it's just my rather childish sense of humour at play here.
I bought this strap from Baltic & when I stuck it on the Desert Sky it reminded me of a Custard Cream biscuit which I used to scoff down a lot of as a child.

Hahha. Nice one. And thank you for the feedback. Can't wait to get mine.
Don't see the appeal myself tbh. When it needs a service it's going to be cheaper to replace the movement, & I don't like the styling myself - it looks like a microbrand watch.
But I'm in the minority, buy what makes you happy ๐๐๐ป

You're not wrong in your opinion Inkitatus. If anyone is expecting the quality of a watch in the thousands of pounds bracket, you'll be disappointed because it is after all a ยฃ500 watch.
That said, for ยฃ500 it does punch above it's weight & let's face it, it's all about the aesthetics that sees people really want one.

Love my Go0fy PandaโฆI paid over RRP but no regrets. Its a unique piece that I know no one else in my circle of friends will have and really looks great with anything. Good luck!!

I'm on the wait-list too. They look amazing front and back. I'm just committing to replacing the movement when it fails. And if that's in 5 years, I'll try my hand at a DIY repair!
38mm is at the very bottom end for me size wise with 19cm wrists but it'll be a fun casual summer piece.
The designs may be polarizing but for those of us who like the design language, they are a huge hit.
I picked up a Desert Sky during the September 2022 launch window, with expected delivery by the end of March 2023. There had been some production delays, so I didn't receive the watch until the end of June. While that delay was a tiny bit frustrating, I love the idea that Richard continues to offer new order windows, so anyone who wants one has the opportunity to get one without paying over retail, as long as they are patient.
I know people loved the watermelon but for some reason the brand doesnโt speak to me. I think itโs the generic font which puts me off although I do admit that the dials are beautiful ๐๐ป
I was just at a watch meetup over the weekend and got to see this exact watch. Fun design and good looking display back. Think it's good value for the money and a cool piece overall.
Picked up my Go0fy Panda about a year and half ago. Had a slight issue with the winding. Mailed Richard and within two weeks it was all resolved.
It gets plenty of wrist time and a pleasure to wear. It's the rectangular pushers that makes it a winner for me.
I think the last two order windows were open for a limited period (a few days?). It's better this way, as you get to order the watch if you want it and it's not a mad scrum for a limited number of pieces. I also like the fact the he wants the watches to go to people who actually like it - he's cancelled orders if he's seen them offered up on secondary sites before delivery.

Thsnk you for the detailed feedback. Much appreciated. I'm thinking about going for the Series 2. Like the fact that it has a Sellita....nothing wrong with the Seagull but nice to have a swiss movement I suppose.

No problem. The Series 02 looks stunning in all its variations. Good luck with the purchase

Love them, love Richard, a really talented young man.
Don't get your hopes up that you'll get the correct model when you do order. I ordered the Desert Sky & they sent me the Custard Cream instead ๐ฎ

Did you tell them?
Wow that's a looker. Really strange to hear about the order mixup. Did you get back to them? Have they rectified the error since then?

In all seriousness though, they are great watches for the money asked.
I did send Richard my Custard Cream but I doubt we'll see a rebranding of the Desert Sky any time soon. ๐

Thatโs because it is a microbrand
I have the watermelon and the series 2. I love them, to me they are a fun addition to an existing collection

Exactly - they either float your boat or they don't. ๐๐ป
I really like there watches but 38mm is to small of a look for me. I need 41-43mm.
Iโve got the Goofy Panda and love it. It came on time and I was kept up to date on everything, which not every microbrand does. Go for it.
Itโs a really nice looking piece I donโt know much about the brand but itโs definitely coolโฆ!!
Thabk you guys. I actually saw this on Andrew's (Time and Tide) wrist and it really popped up.
Love the brand. Haven't pulled the trigger yet
I've never had a SeaGull movement so would like to hear about their reliability. I'm aware this could be a subjective topic
A workhorse, but it fails, cheaper to junk the mechanism and put a new movement in. Exceptionally hard to repair.

Ironically, this is a homage in the conventional sense. Watch people are the only ones to use it to mean โblatant cash-grab copyโ.

Don't see the hype. But wish them the best
