The Other Moonwatch
If you couldn't tell by my handle, my grail is the Speedy because I grew up in Houston during the Apollo era. I would have purchased the other Moonwatch already but the original was a little big (even for my fat wrist) and too close in appearance to my Speedy.
The new 43.5mm is perfect. I don't have a Panda or HAQ yet so this ticks both of those boxes. I guess I'm done with Moonwatches until Artemis returns us to the Moon. I wonder what watch(es) the new Moon walkers will wear (Speedy 3861, Skywalker, something else)?
I bought the Lunar Pilot from the owner of a small AD in Long Beach who gave me a decent discount. Support your ADs (the good ones at least). Got to try it on first (not too big this time) and talked with him about watches in general (including the LE Astronaut which he had) while he was sizing my bracelet.
Also, not that I needed more encouragement, but thanks to @Max for the great video (last push I needed).

Although I have the 45mm LP, I did order the 43mm panda version (should be arriving today). Essentially, it may be the same watch but with the slightly smaller size, different case finish, textured dial, no date window, PVD pushers and the original Bulova logo, these differences are plenty enough to make this watch interesting in its own right and a nice complement to the “other” other moon watch.

The strap on the Speedy is a Colareb Firenze Rust that I bought from Holbens (to plug everyone involved). Here is another pic with more strap.
I really love the strap and ordered another similar two stitch strap (less distressed looking) from Two Stitch Straps along with a forrest green strap that is still making its way to the US from Europe (first time purchase from them/ their posts here were too hard to resist).
All my 20mm straps will work on both Moonwatches which was one of my many rationales to buy the Lunar Pilot. Now if I could only find a quick release bracelet for my Speedy (Forstner, Uncle Seiko, anyone). I really like the quick release part of the bracelet on the Lunar Pilot.

I’m on a self-imposed moratorium on buying a new watch right now, but that new LP is really tempting. Must stay strong.
