I like my watches to be quite snug against my wrist. With this in mind, I more often than not have my watches on rubber, canvas or leather, because its easier to adjust on the fly. Unless I get the Rolex glidelock system or something similar, I don't think I'll be truly happy with a steel bracelet.
I prefer to wear mine a little looser so that it can move around a couple of centimetres to sit further up the forearm or closer to the wrist. This maybe a more feminine way of wearing watches perhaps?
(Sadly none of these pictures are me and none of these watches are mine)
I prefer my watches to be tighter rather than loose. I aim for one finger to go between me wrist and the strap. If I easily get two fingers, then it is too loose, but if I can't get any finger between it is too tight.
I try to find a goldilocks zone with both straps and bracelets: snug enough not to move too much (which drives me nuts), but not so tight that you can see strap marks on my wrist when I take my watch off. Admittedly that’s not always possible, and in those cases I always opt for a little tighter.
I got my first mechanical watch in 1976 as a boy. I broke it within a year (over wound it). Then after many Casio years, I rediscovered mechanical watches. Still have a couple of quartz watches, thoug...

i usually loosen up a bit if i wear steel bracelet. just set it on micro adjusment on the clasp
I tend to keep it quite tight no matter what so it stays in place. Drives me mental when my watch movies up and down my arm

Yes, that's how I feel about it. Don't like the watch sliding around my wrist.
Tight - need to know it’s still there.
I prefer snug with perhaps a bracelet just a touch looser than I would wear with a strap.

I like bracelets loose. This is me with one of my Tags a moment ago. I live in England so it never ever gets hot enough for my wrist to expand.
My tendency is for everything but bracelets to be a tad snug, above the bone. Bracelets are just loose enough for a little wiggle room.
I like to keep my watch bands and bracelets tight, so the watches don't move around. I'm loose in other ways ...
Bracelet loose.

That very top tight wrist looks painful!
