Exploring Frederique Constant
I'm not big on dress watches or roman numeral indices... but there's just something about this Frederique Constant that called to me. It's just class. The waffle pattern, the sub dial, the onion-style crown, the radial indents - ooof

I really like what Frederique Constant is launching during recent times, the brand has always been great value but that watch and some of their early dress watches followed designs that recalled Brequet too closely for me. Admittedly I have owned Brequet watches from the late 80s, they are loved but rest in a bank safety deposit box not because of their value but I did move on from the classic designs. I used to wear brogues and dark tailored suits every working day also, not so much today.
I think it is a lovely watch and as @TOwguy I feel a strong Brequet vibe and I see that as a positive thing👍
FC does about the best around for dress style watches - and at a wide array of pricepoints. It has sort filled a void left by other brands shifting away from dressier models or moving those offerings up to higher tier and priced offerings.

a few years back I was gifted a Tissot LeLocle on the tenth anniversary of my tenure with my current employer ... my very first (and only) dress watch. I like it, but some roman numerals would've made the dial more "interesting" IMHO ...
I’ve got a lot of love for this watch. A close friend has the same one. Classy AF and a nice way to get that handmade feel at a reasonable price
I curious now that you have had this watch for a week now what are your thoughts? I am eyeing one on the JS website right now. It’s a QZ but for the same reasons you detailed I am thinking making the buy. I think it’s a classy watch that elegant especially the waffle dial pattern really makes it pop.

Yeah I still really like it, although the last week hasn't been the greatest test as I've been working a lot (video shoots) so haven't really had chance to wear it. It remains alluring for the same reasons though for sure 🙂
