Tudor, decisions

Hello everyone. I am new to the forum but have been into watches for a long time. Recently Tudor has caught my interest and I bought a Tudor Black Bay Chrono a couple of months ago and really enjoying this watch very much.

I was back at my AD yesterday and saw that they have a Black Bay Pro model and a Black Bay Ceramic in stock. I tried both on. I liked the Pro but have a 7.5 inch wrist and felt the 39mm case was just a little  small on my wrist. I also was taken by the Ceramic and with the 41mm looked better on my wrist I thought.

Please let me know your thoughts on these watches, which would you choose and why, anyone with a 7.5 inch wrist or larger wearing the Pro?

You should buy the pro and sell it to me at retail. Those are hard to come by, but don’t be a flipper!

I don't have a 7.5 inch wrist however, my wrist size doesn't stop me from getting what I want. Here's the thing, what it looks like to you is what's important and we know that with these watch brands they will make a larger version. There's been quite a stir between 39 and 40/41 online. Most of my watches are in the 40/41 but that's what I started my collection with many years ago. With that being said I have some smaller ones, but I find I don't wear them as much and they are more of an "I want this in my collection" for those rare times I want to wear it.

My question to you is how do you plan to wear this? daily driver or occasionally?

Not an owner of either but I have a 7 inch wrist and regularly wear 36mm watches, and love them. There's no such thing as "too small" or "too big" (within reason) - it's purely subjective. FWIW the current "trend" seems to be towards smaller sizes, but that's like flared vs drainpipe jeans i.e. meaningless. You do you.

If I had 7.5inch wrist, I'd go straight to the Tudor Pelagos FXD

If you're more used to bigger watches I'd look at the Black Bay Ceramic.  BB Pro has a black dial that is surrounded by a steel bezel which will make the presence feel more compact

I understand your thoughts...I have a 7 inch wrist and owned 2 Black Bay 58´s....liked the watches but always thought they were a tad too smal for me for a diver watch.....later I got the BB Heritage 41 mm smiley face and it felt just so perfect in that size.....so I ended up selling my 2 BB58´s.

I also have 34 and 36 mm watches but they are more dressier type of watches and these are perfect for me in their smaller classic size......but for a diver I need at least 41mm.

Im having a crush on the ceramic BB, so my vote is for it. Share pics once you’ve decided 🤤

I have also have a 7.5in wrist and really love the way my Pelagos LHD wears at 42mm.

My advice to you would be to get what you want, not something based on just dimensions. Both watches are cool and you could certainly pull off a 39mm. To me, the ceramic is special and modern and different in almost every way and I’d prob lean there.

I am huge fan of Tudor. I've got/had the Tudor Sub 79090, Tudor Pelagos 42mm Black, and current Pelagos 39mm. The 39mm is actually 40mm with bezel as Adrian Barker pointed out. I guess my point is my wrist is 7.25-7.375 so I have larger wrist and always preferred 42mm case sizes—but I absolutely love the P39. You're right though, one must try on the watch, to see how size works on their wrist. Good luck.

lol - I have both. You have GREAT taste! :D I have my BBPro on the steel bracelet which gives it a very hefty feel while I keep my Ceramic on the fabric strap which makes it very light. Size wise, they both work on my wrist but I'm in the sub-7" wrist club. Have you tried on the 41mm GMTs? If you like the larger size of the ceramic, you may like those one better? I'm fond of the two-tone "root beer" GMT.

It all comes down to personal preference. I find anything under 40 too small for my 7.3" wrist.

It appears you feel the same way.
