I am a very shy and introverted person in real life and do not do well in large groups of people. So I do not make friends very easily.
When I met my wife back in 2012 and met several of her friends, many of them became my friends too.
After I got bit by the bug, I of course found WUS and learned many things about this hobby. Along the way I found that one of my friends, that I inherited from my wife, was interested. Also he was buying Folexes. So I introduced him to the world of Seiko and he was off to the races.
I actually built a custom SKX for him about 5 years ago.
Anyway, last year he unalived himself and since then I have once again been solo in my hobby. I came here seeking community, which I have found. And hopefully I will be able to make some friends, maybe some local to me if I am fortunate.
What brought you to the party?

Welcome!
What brought me to WC was @Max's videos. The welcoming nature is why I stayed.
@Shbamn50 i believe is near-ish you.
I used to be active on forums, even a moderator on a couple of watch forums. It seems Insta and Facebook took the wind out of the forums’ sails for a while. Traditional forums were all but dead for regular traffic and/or interesting discussion so I moved to FB for a while, joined a few groups but meh.
When I finally got here, I liked it. I made it my regular stop along with one other forum I visit daily. That’s all the online watch activity I want or need right now.
I didn’t have anyone in my life to talk watches with. WC has been a fun place to get to know more watch folks!
Welcome
@Max did. Enjoy his video content so thought I'd pop in & check it out.
Everyone is friendly and I learn new things everyday.
So sticking around 😁👍🏻
Love watches. Got sick of the negativity on X (Twitter) and saw Max mention WC on a YouTube vid and the stars aligned. Been here a week and loving it!
You guys are awesome! How we've maintained such civility... Must be magic in the air around here ✨🧙
Hello neighbor to the south of me. I'm up here in Sandusky. O-H! I honestly don't remember how I came acrossed WatchCrunch. I know that I looked around on the site, liked what I see, signed up within 10 minutes. It's the only watch site that I am a member to or even looked at. Reading about the horror stories of the other sites, no thanks. I'm glad I'm here. I have a very eclectic collection and I'm sure it wouldn't be appreciated elsewhere. Sorry to hear about your friend unaliving himself. That's a unique way of saying it. When I read that I had to stop and think for a moment. I haven't had enough coffee ☕ to have to think. Don't worry, there are a bunch of great people here on WatchCrunch. I believe that there are a couple more members in your area. We will get you out of your shell. I am also thinking about having a meet up here in Sandusky. Maybe you can make it. I am thinking about getting my Detroit friend @drcarter13 involved. Shh! He doesn't know yet. LOL 😂 OKAY the coffee is working. @unholiestjedi is a great guy to talk with to. I don't know why it won't let me tag his name. You will see that there are a bunch of great people here. Have a great one!
Need to communicate with watch enthusiasts and feeling part of a group, very strange right 😅
For me it was fairly straightforward: I Googled: ‘what is a nice watch forum?’ And lo behold, the G-men came up with WC! Good call 💪🏻
We all suffer from the same sickness. I need support lol
It's @Max for me too. I mean his YouTube vids.

I’m a few miles north of you but south of your friend in Detroit. Just not in the same country.

This bit of trivia is so fun.

You are my Canadian neighbor. Your just acrossed the lake from me.
Max and his YouTube channel….i never really bothered with it for a while and now I’m never off it ….😄😄😄
Max and his videos brought me here. I also read the German UhrForum. The less structured approach and well-behaved banter among watch lovers beyond borders, generations and budgets made me stay here and start posting. Otherwise, I'm not into social media at all.
Sorry I haven’t been responding to the comments folks. I was out helping my mom this morning and then working on household chores before the Royal Rumble here in a couple hours.
Yep I am a pro wrestling fanatic.
Just started watching YouTube videos and one of the mentioned this place. And here I am 😊 glad to be here with you
