Is it going out of hand?

Hello WCers!

I am not a collector per se, i just like to have watches :) over the course of 2 years, I more or less bought or sold 15-20 watches including couple for my wife, G-Shocks, Casio’s, Rolex’s, Omega’s etc…

Just to give some background info, in all areas of life except watches- i am always quality over quantity, funcionality and effeciency focused guy.

My question is: I have a Pepsi GMT, a black/yellow sub, Pelagos 39, BB58, Zelos Blacktip GMT, some Seiko’s… still i crave for a new burgendy Tudor in jubilee.

I feel like this is converting into an addiction and will harm me financially- what do you think?

You’re the best judge of just how much is enough. Then again, you have some heavy hitters already so save some for the rest of us smucks haha.

welcome to the addiction ahahaa. on the bright side, we all found a hobby we really love, collecting watches. You know your situation best, all the best buddy

·

You have a terrific start..I want the red Tudor also. but with the white face...

·

Stop fooling yourself you are a collector😉

My advise…life is too short and unpredictable.. buy what you want.. enjoy it while you can and sell when you are done..

·

Yeah… no hope for you. Classic addict !

Do you find yourself getting cravings to buy more watches? Are you buying watches more and more frequently? Are you keeping secrets from your loved ones? If yes, you might want to re-assess your current level of exposure to watches and watch content. I wrote a bit about it a while ago: https://www.watchcrunch.com/K.evin/posts/mental-health-awareness-three-signs-of-watch-addiction-11360

Your a collector. It is said having three or more of anything is a collection.

Welcome to the club. 😉

Go for thw burgundy :D i wore it for a couple of days and absolutely loved it. Also it doesn't feel or look like the other watches in your collection so it will be a nice addition. 👍

For the financial part.. well i see it like a hobby, and hobbies tend to be a financial "burden" :p

To be honest, i do. From checking every other gray market dealers website to msging ADs furiously every week :(

My opinion, it´s just a 2 year crazy watch shopping spree.....I´ve been there, if you got the budget you can´t seem to stop....give it time, it will pass some day and you will be buying less and less frequently and also start selling....you´ll want to get to that (utopian 😀) perfect collection for you.

In the meantime, no it will not harm you financially, if you buy clever, (no need to buy new always, a used one in good condition is a better deal for most brands), your money is not gone, it´s just sitting in your watches......available again when you sell

·

Sounds like it. If you have a partner and you are taking to concealing from them some of your purchase intentions and thinking of ways to add to your collection surreptitiously then you are a definite addict! 😀

Calm down, get a hold of yourself!

As anyone who knows me on this list...I'm not the one to provide advice on this subject.

If you let it, absolutely it will. If you're cool with that, great. If it brings you pleasure and you want to throw all/most of your money at it, go for it. If you're recognising that as a problem now, however, and part of that recognition is speaking up and 'saying it out loud', then seek some help. Absolutely serious here.
