I’ve got a 7.25 inch wrist and the XL automatic version. I sometimes feel it is too large so I’d stick with the one you’ve got.

My wrist is 7.25’’ but I prefer smaller watches too. Frustrating when you see an aesthetic you like but it is 40mm plus!

Still, some good choices depending on budget - Hamilton Khaki 38, Longines Spirit 37 , Nomos Orion 38, Aqua Terra 38, Cartier Tank Solo Large(not XL), Grand Seiko heritage models 37mm, Black Bay 36, IWC Pilot 36, new King Seiko 37 - and plenty of micro brands e.g. Weis field watch 38, various Christopher award models, etc. Good luck with your health and watch purchase !

Explorer - I find the 36 too small for my wrist but the 40 doesn’t look as good imho, as the bezel seems too thick to me and there is too much space on the dial. Wish they did a 38!
