I totally agree with you! People don’t get how much watches mean for us watch lovers. I think watches are one of the few material things that can endure time and can, at the same time, carry a lot of sentimental value if there is a story behind them.
Hi @OldSnafu,
It seems like you're right, because the 36mm version of the exact same watch case I bough does seem to have the chapter ring I was asking about:
I'll order one of those to see if it works better for me than the previous one. Thanks! :)
Thank you very much!! I’ve made some changes to the watch though: I’ve tried to fix the chapter ring alignment with the dial markers, changed the hand set with one that I can actually see from almost any angle and at first sight, and I’ve also changed the strap (this change has been crucial because it’s made wearing the watch much more comfortable!).
Ohhh don't worry about the movement and the rest of the parts, I took them all out before "hammer time", so they're all fine 😀. It was the first time I tried to remove a bezel, but I've been practicing disassembling/assembling a watch movement/crown/dial/hands a few times with some of my old and discarded pieces. That's why I initially thought it'd go way smoother than it did.
About the necessary tools, I've been buying all of them for a while now, even a crystal press (I didn't have in mind buying one, but If I want to change the chapter ring...), so I think I'll do just as you and @Kannscustomwatches, I'll buy a new SRPD case and a click spring that fits it, so I can use the pieces I've ordered, which, by the way, I'll attach here so you can see them, as I REALLY like them!! 😍
The end result I expect is something that looks like this:
Thanks a lot for stopping by and spending some time reading my blabbering. This community is truly awesome!!!
