I cant get this feeling out of my mind that I stuffed up...

I posted a video 4 days ago about letting go of my Omega AT to part fund a new acquisition, a GS Blue Snowflake

BUT..I feel I stuffed up. Not in the purchase of the GS, no the GS is great and I am loving it. I feel I stuffed up because I let go of the Omega. As soon as that watch left my watch box, I started to miss it.

Now several weeks later and the feeling hasn't subsided. Maybe I should have let go of another piece instead of that AT.

What are your thoughts?

Have you let go of a watch you have regretted and if so what have you done about it?..

Haven’t had the problem as I haven’t let anything go. Hope I’m not a hoarder.

The dial…the polishing just absolutely stunning…that said if you can’t get the AT out of your head…sounds like you need to aquire one again…just don’t sell those Sinn’s 😁

·

The Aqua Terra is a special watch that I refuse to have in my collection. It is literally perfect for basically any task or any setting. How can you NOT pick it up everyday?

Don’t get it. Your other watches need love.

Also, good video! Appreciate your work.

smart man, smart suggestion...

I sold my Aqua Terra for a Grand Seiko. I couldn’t be happier. I do like the AT but it was the wrong Omega for me and sat in the box. Ultimately, I felt no joy in wearing it so it had to go.

Nice footage, good job 👍

Waiting my flake 🙄

·

Haha Peter, not sure whether you remember me, our tastes in watches are really similar. SLA043, OP36, Sinn and now SBGA407. I also think about getting an AT 38 when I'm visiting Japan in September 😂

Everyone should have an Aqua Terra, perfect GADA

·

It was another superb video 👌

Always like to be reminded why my GS was a great purchase !

·

For sure let go of a different watch and get the Aqua Terra back. I speak from experience, having the AT and Skyflake in rotation is the way to go.

Your video inspired my watch for today (also on an Artem strap!)

But I still love my AT too.

I think you’re going to love the Skyflake though. Super versatile and a total keeper.

I’ve sold a Rolex OP41 (after 6 months of ownership) and JLC Reverso Duoface (after 2 years of ownership). I think about the OP from time to time but don’t have any serious regrets about selling it. It funded my other GS which is my favorite watch in my collection.

Regret is part of the game Peter, you put your heart on the line and sometimes it gets broken. Good thing there's a million ATs out there to choose from, maybe this is a sign to try a different model? 😉

I have enjoyed your videos. The fact that you are expressing sellers remorse is simultaneously surprising and not surprising all at once to me.

Let me explain.

I’ve noticed that you go through watches much, much faster than I ever would. For example, by coincidence I picked up an Omega Railmaster right before you posted your video on the watch. You expressed the same love of the watch that I feel. But shortly after you had traded it off, with no feelings of loss or sellers remorse. I couldn’t really understand that, because of the way I collect. So in this sense I find your current sellers remorse surprising and uncharacteristic of your past reviews and subsequent selling of watches.

Alternatively, I would feel that sellers remorse ought to be natural for any watch that a collector thought about before purchasing. So, your sense of remorse isn’t surprising to me and the way I collect.

IDK, maybe this is the first time you really truly enjoyed the watch. Maybe you feel you are in love with many watches (like the aforementioned Railmaster), while you are much more frequently infatuated with a given watch.

·

I’ll eventually run into this problem as my watch box has 6 slots and I don’t plan on keeping more than that

·

As you have the irrefutable rule to possess no more watches than 8 at any given time, my rule is to keep all watches I ever buy. This prevents me from spontaneously buying watches, as I always take a long time to ponder whether to buy a watch or not. If there's any doubt, I just don't do it. And if I decide to buy one, I consider the investment as sunk costs. So it is never a matter of money to sell it again.

Pete I sold a SARB017 Alpinist & a Sinn 104ST to help pay for the Tudor Ranger I picked up in Thailand at the Siam Tudor boutique in BKK earlier this year and if I miss them , it diminishes quickly once I put on my Tudor :)

It all depends on what Aqua Terra it was since there are hundreds of them, but if the Grand Seiko makes you happy then there's nothing wrong with that too

I am a subscriber and just watched your old segment when you bought the AT 38mm. I didn't know you were on WC until watching that video. My first time checking out your WC posts and I see this. Interesting for sure. As per @Max Lots of ATs in the world. I'll bet one model makes it back into your 8 watch rotation

BTW love you on YouTube!
