Time Engine Belt Watch

Image

This funky belt watch has been our "bathroom clock" for as long as I can remember. Right there on the counter, between the sinks, an easy glance when getting ready. At least 10 years. The bezel has some kind of tarnish on it (that's not dirt), but otherwise no worse for the wear, so to speak.

I can't recall where I acquired it but suspect it was back in the early 1990's. The case is 47mm and it's 9.4mm thick. The blue part is made of some kind of rubber material. On one side of the rubber is a snap and there's a belt loop on the other.

Just flip it down to check the time:

I just tried to find one on the Internet and couldn't. It keeps excellent time. Here's a pic of the movement, not sure exactly which one it is:

Just wanted to share this oddity. Have a great weekend! 🍻

Wau! That is a cool piece! Total 80's vibe. I have this from the same era.

It a really cool piece. I wonder if it was a camping/hiking accessory?

That’s great. What a strange idea, keeping my watch on my belt. Thanks for sharing.

I really wish I could remember where I got it...

Apparently the case back used to have a swatch of the fabric on it.

Yes! I remember now, there was a blue piece of rubber on the case back. The glue let go many years ago and I thought it looked better without it anyway. That's cool that you found these, I've only seen my color.

Despite its meager birthright, I have to defend its honor, as it has been a faithful piece year after year in a damp bathroom environment and claims no water resistance at all. I take care of it and it reciprocates. 🍻
