Back to Quartz

Hey folks. 12 years into this hobby and I'm enjoying quartz more than ever. Reliable, accurate and always ready to go. Anyone else loving quartz these days?

How did you manage to snap the exact moment of the 36 changing to 37?

Quartz is good. There is only one factor where mechanical is better: nostalgia.

·

The engineering behind them is incredible. Not always the prettiest movement to behold, but it’s magic on the wrist

·

I hear you, I love my automatics and mechanical watches but have a lot of quartz watches for exactly the reasons you stated 👍

·

Me too bud. I have 2 Casio digitals coming in on Friday a white W-215H and a red F-108WHC. I'll post when they get it. The orange is a bold move, and I love it.

Reflexes or luck 😅

Thin and accurate. And movements from 20 years ago still work great 😃

Yup my collection has more quartz in it currently which I would not have imagined 😃

Superb mate. These are cheap enough to go a bit bold. I regularly drool over Casio vintage 😅

half of my modest collection is quartz ... you can't beat the "grab-and-go" aspects of a decent quartz piece! Aesthetically too, some of them are real stunners (see some of Timex's recent re-issues!) 😎

the battery in my Casio Edifice EFV-100D recently died though, and you wouldn't believe the devil of a time I'm having trying to buy a replacement battery! so there's that! LOL! 😮

Quartz is great. I started out 4 years ago watch collecting with a fascination for mechanical watches, however am already swaying more and more towards different types of high(er) end quartz.

·

Quartz all the way for me!! I don’t see anything else in my future at this point. I just want to tell the time with something I enjoy looking at with no fuss or muss!

·

I do prefer automatic, but if we only had mechanical watches pieces like my favourite watch in my collection wouldn’t exist. It marvels me every time I check it against atomic time and the thing is like 0.2 faster or so.

My collection stands at 4 autos, 1 manual-wind, 4 quartz at the moment, so quite balanced.

I appreciate the pros of both quartz and mechanical, and own more of the former (although the next watch currently on order is an automatic). I particularly enjoy wearing thin light watches, where quartz tends to shine.
