Next Bulova Archive purchase

Hello all!! I'm new to watch crunch and I started collecting watches in 2022 so my collection is just starting out. I really like the Bulova archive watches!! On YouTube the brand seems like a love it or hate it and they do make some pretty ugly watches but I really vibe with the vintage ones I've gotten from them so far. I have the Chrono A, the field watch, and I just ordered the lunar pilot which should get here next weekend!! I'm planning my next purchase and wanted to see if there was any feedback or different options I should look at. Thanks!!

Great watchmaker with horological history. Yes like a lot of other brands they have ugly pieces. But their well made. I have a couple in my collection and love them.

Have fun!

Yes my thoughts exactly!! I have a Marine star as well as the 3 I listed in the post. All the watches I've gotten from them have been great!! I really like your strap option on the pilot, I excited for mine to get here!!!! Cheers!

That Lunar Pilot is a "STRAP MONSTER". I love mine. Like to get the parking meter.

You can probably tell I'm going to advise the devil diver, great modern interpretation, love the case shape, awesome lume tubes, inverse date magnifier and plenty of colour for that pop, love mine and if you get one  I'm sure you'll love it as well.

That looks so good!! I definitely vibe with the style and I really like the little details like the inverse  date magnifier. Date magnifiers can make or break the look of a watch for me.

I'm not a fan of the usual magnifiers, but on this its great and it's what the original one had as well,in fact it's a damn fine reissue that's got a lot of the original in it

I'd have to go Computron.

I'd have to go Computron.

I'm adding it to my list to research!!

If you have the wrist for it, I would highly recommend the devil diver. It’s a beautiful watch and I wish I could have kept mine.

It is a little bigger than I typically go for but I have a few bigger watches that I really love so I'm sure the size wouldn't be an issue!! Thanks for the feedback!!

It actually wears really well because it has a 46mm lug to lug.

It's the Bulova Archive Series.   Mil Ships model.    Its a diver.   I love it.    The standard edition is nice.  The limited edition is super expensive, but it's all relative

I had an original A-11 from 1944 and it was amazing!!! Small but the history can’t be beat!

I also had a black PVD Lunar Pilot that I loved for awhile too!

Welcome to WatchCrunch pal! Good choice on selecting the Bulova Archive series, I think those are some sweet options. I would personally select the Chrono C, just for the bit of fun and vibrancy of color in the dial, and the stainless steel mesh strap is recommended for the band

However, I see the devil diver is the more popular choice, and I don't disagree, I would say that is my second recommendation, or the lunar pilot (assuming your wrist is large enough for that 45mm case XD).

I’ve been enjoying their A-11 from the archive series. Great little watch.

While I have both the Devil Diver and the A15 Pilot, I picked the A15 in your poll, but honestly, any Bulova would be great, including the Computron. Here is mine.

In case you haven't seen it, TGV made an interesting video of his trip to the Empire State Building Bulova HQ. Worth a look for anyone into Bulova

Go with a Lunar Pilot 👍🏻

The devil diver is winner any way you slice it, the surfboards are a favorite of mine, luner pilot is just to big, that sucks!!

I definitely wish they had an additional smaller version of the lunar but I have a few bigger watches that I usually can pull off so I'm not as concerned about the width. Would like 1 closer to 40/41 mm for sure

Go with a Lunar Pilot 👍🏻

I ordered 1 last week and should be here this weekend!! That's why I created the poll since the lunar was the latest on my short list to cross off!!

I'll definitely be getting all 3 of these and more of their watches in the future, it's just deciding on which is next up to plate lol. I have the lunar pilot on order and should be here in a week!! It was the next one up to last weekend when I pulled the trigger and got me thinking about the next buy. Cheers!!

It may not be your thing but the Bulova Curv is pretty sweet man with the in house curved 262 kHz movement and comfortable to wear 🙂👍

I know I am six months late in posting and I hope you didn’t go for the Devil Diver. My recommendation is the Precionist it is truly a GADA with the smoothest seconds had of any watch, 16 ticks per second. It is the same movement in the Lunar Pilot. I also own the A15 and it is a fantastic watch, but this was is usually a no brained for me to throw on for either dinner date or to lounge around in jeans.
