Workweek watches vs. weekend watches

I find myself wearing different watches during the weekend than when I’m dressed for the office.

My “work watches” tend to be dressier, more subdued and not as flashy, like my Max bill, Seiko prassage cocktailtime, Seadull1963 and JLC Reverso.

On the weekend I usually got my for sports watches, divers and so on. Like my Panerai Luminor 1950 and my green Oris Aquis Hangang. Those has more presence on the wrist.

My Tudor Blackbay Pepsi GMT and Tudor Royal are actually the most versatile, my GADA watches (the Royal has a 100m WR with a screwed down crown), both with black dials. Still the Royal is more of - dressy “work watch” while the Pepsi is more of a jeans “weekends” kind of watch.

Do you have “weekend watches” and “work days” watches?

🤷🏼‍♂️

No, because I'd associate work with those watches, & even though I love my job I want to wear them without being reminded of it.

What I do do is tend to wear my nicest watch (sm300 heritage) when I'm working at weekends to cheer me up, so guess that counts a bit ..

That’s a nice self encouragement tip 👍🏻🤣

Still I find my Panerai and Oris divers usually doesn’t sit well with a business attire, or even business casual sometimes 🤷🏼‍♂️

I tend to do this as well because I won't wear as dressy watches on the weekends. A vintage gold watch wont fare well with a young kid!

·

Nah, I don’t divide my watches by work and weekend. I wear them based on my mood.

·

Versatility is key for me so all my watch need to fit for weekdays and weekends lol

·

What size is your Seagull? I am very close to pulling the trigger on a 42mm.

·

My work environment isn’t formal enough that I need to divide them, but a couple of my watches are simply too difficult to read to wear to work regularly. I love these watches, but they’re definitely weekend wears.

It’s 40mm. Perfect on a 7,25” wrist I think

Would go too big to keep its vintage aesthetic, and it has the chronograph pushers

Thanks Buddy. I appreciate the advice. :-)

Yes I have same situation. To work I usually wear diff watches than at home/over weekend. But that is more due to things I do at home ( can't really prepare fish lunch with vintage dress watch or do the chores around the house in UN or Speedy ) vs what I do at work. I still wear my daily beaters to work but not vice versa

·

Definitely, I wear my Sinn and Casio watches mainly on weekends, Max Bill and GS when I'm "at work" (I mostly wfh).

·

Generally, I do the same but sneak in weekend watches here and there.

Same here 😉

·

Theres no dress code at my work so all watches are good to go. I do tend to lean towards the casual when on shift though

Max Bill 😍

·

I think the Max Bill can be very casual too. I have the Max Bill Chronoscope and I don't dress up ever. Love it with just jeans and a T-shirt. Although I don't have the Max Bill, I think the same is probably true. I am trying to find a good deal on the Max Bill Mega Solar. Would love to have one.

I agree, with the right strap it could go with everything, it’s a brilliant design.

But I usually don’t wear it that way 🤷🏼‍♂️

And remember the Chronoscope is sportier and larger so it fits better a more casual look 👌🏻😎

Not quite the same, but I wear my Junghans Meister Mega the same way I just described. I guess I don't care and I admit I am likely horrible at dressing. I won't let that dictate what watches I can and cannot wear. I just do because I like them :) I had to take it off the bracelet though. I despise bracelets. It's just not me.

I got this Citizen specifically to mark the occasion of being accepted at my current job. Turns out it has pretty nifty features (1 min countdown, instant date/day changes, stop watch, lume/night light) that's useful for work.

I've also been wearing my Seiko often: dressy, but not so in-your-face.

For home I usually will wear my Cartier, kind of the opposite of what most others do.

For days I'm going in the water, my Orient has me covered.

Tudor Black Bay 36 and Grand Seiko SBGX009 share work duty. On weekends, unless it’s for church or a social event that might require a more snazzy attire, you’ll find me in a G-Shock square of some sort almost exclusively.

·

My skx007 is always automatically on my wrist the moment the weekend starts.

I hear that 😉
