Longines Legend Diver 39mm - just released -

Unfortunately I am now faced by the dilemma whether to go for the new Longines Legend Diver 39mm.

Being (in my opinion) this one the perfect size for this stunning and iconic model, I am afraid I am going to surrender the credit card to the AD.

Moreover, because of my own rule to keep the collection within reasonable dimensions, I will need to let go at least one piece currently owned.

It's terrible, I write this post to share the pain with you guys.

Anybody else thinking to pull the trigger too?

Cheers.

PS: prices in the picture are in Singapore Dollars.

I almost pulled the trigger over the weekend. It looks amazing in the metal.

Just curious if I’m the only one that dislikes the look of compression divers? Something about an internal bezel looks odd to me.

·

Very nice! In my opinion the bronze green version is still the best, event with the 42mm, it is a very wearable watch for me.

·

Finally! I was just about to make a post about this. Been waiting along time!

I didn't like them at first but it grew on me. I think seeing it up close helped. I still don't like every compression diver, though.

I had the 42, too big dial form my wrist ..too big lug to lug as well.I am sure this 39mm version will also come in bronze, soon or later.

Let's hope. I will go to the Longines boutique in Geneva to try the 39mm and also ask them.

Honestly to "ME" this is perfection. I own the 42mm gifted to me by my wife 14years. And it therefore has sentimental value.. but this, this is wow 🤯

·

39mm on the leather strap is interesting. I like the compressor style too.

Though, Longines is a brand that I like a lot of their models, but not well enough to spend the amount of money they're priced at...

Just perfect

Stunning. Website states anti reflective coating on both sides of the crystal. Kinda bums me out. That coating (from what I hear) usually gets a bit funky looking after some time on the wrist, even with gentle wear.

·

It’s really nice! My opinion is wait 6-9 months for them to appear on the secondary market at a large discount.

It's a preference thing. I actually prefer compression style divers over the traditional. The big, blingy bezel is a turn off for me. But I do agree the non-compression style is easier to use. More functional.

I bought the black PVD version last year would buy another in steel minus the date but prefer the original 42mm case size. So this iteration is not for me but has motivated me to look at some other Longines watches, perhaps the Moonphase.

Nice! Looks good on ya.

I popped in to my local place but they hadn’t gotten any in yet. 😭

Love it,

With compressor style divers can the bezel crown be un screwed to move it under water or when wet or is this a weakness of the design?

I like to move my typical outer bezel divers when under water or when in the water.

·

I went to the AD with my spirit (the watch) an enjoyed trying few others (the legend diver 39, the big eye and a couple of divers)

I hate to admit I am with you 100% may be the greatest dive dial ever produced

As far as I know, the bezel should be set before entering into water, although it could be ok if you do underwater within a couple pf meters from surface (I would not do it).

Just noticed the font for "Automatic" on this looks the same as on the Zodiac Olympus.

Love the black with the bracelet

I just bought this in the blueish-gray dial two days ago and I absolutely love it! The dimensions are perfect for wearing the entire day. I like the boxed sapphire crystal and find myself gliding over it with my finger or fidgeting with the dive bezel while I'm waiting for someone. I think now would be a good time for purchasing a watch since the market cooled off post lockdowns - I got a good discount at the dealer before even asking for it. Either way, I'm sure you will love it, and this comes from someone who is almost exclusively into dress watches!

I admit, I surrendered to the AD as well, who offered me a good discount (this time I asked for it, hoping to hear a “no” and walk away).

After keeping on hold the poor dealer for about 50 minutes, to decide between the two colors, I went for the blue one. Yes, it is fantastic!

Uff, having the same dilemma... Have the 42mm and brought it for my honeymoon and been wearing it on other important events. But I'm thinking of selling it to get this new one which solves some of the issues I have with the 42mm, the size and the awful lume... Did you try it on the flesh? How does it compare?

Unfortunately I tried on one .... And unfortunately I loved it. But I cannot sell my 42 and at this point cannot justify having two of the same. Instead I got a new strap for my LLD 😁

·

Previously I didn't consider this model due to its size, now released at 39mm, it is something I can consider for 2024 !

When I heard the rumor about the 39mm, I put my 42mm on sale. Fortunately it worked. Let us see how looks the 42 on new strap.
