5th watch I modded myself☺️
This is the 5th watch I modded myself. As mention in my previous post, my friend and I were looking at Namoki’s catalog and this watch case stood out to me because its the PRX case! I have the green PRX powermatic 80 as my wedding watch. Bought the PRX before the 35mm automatic was released and when it did, was really drooling at it 🤤. Anyway, when I saw this case, and saw that Namoki list this watch case as compatible with NH34, theres only one thing to do.. to build it!
Quick review:
Pro:
For a 17cm(6.9inch) wrist, this watch is perfect. The size, thickness, lug to lug, everything is spot on.
It fits NH34! My first actual GMT watch.
Con:
The braclete is a bit sharp, so in certain angle, it digs into the wrist. Doesn’t happen often, but when it did, you’ll notice it.
No micro adjust, so just have to deal with it😕.
Overall, very happy with this case and the GMT function. I finished building this watch around end of Nov 2023 (after finishing the other builds), but was thiking to get a leather strap for it. And after a while thinking and rethinking it, finally decided to get it on a brown horween leather with green stitching. The end result is attached.
Very very happy with the experience of building my own custom watch and definitely will not be my last. I’m trying another build with case bought from aliexpress, but need to decide weather to make another GMT (NH34) or casual everyday watch with NH36. 😜

The dial looks strangely familiar. 😀 But to see it in a PRX-style case is a surprise. I think it looks great with the leather strap.
Yep, the one and only😂. I think the hardest part of GMT mod is choosing the dial, because not many options for a dial with 24h indication and still looks sharp.

Right, that's why I used it. They now seem to have it in different colors, but you are right: GMT dial options are not as plentiful.
Nice work on the build! I think the leather strap softens the overall look of the watch, the bracelet seemed a little to angular, almost industrial looking. I agree with you on the limited options for GMT dials. I've been using the NH35 movement for my last couple of builds, you can find a nice variety of dials that are compatible, and I like just the date window. Be forewarned that this hobby can become very addictive, less than a year ago I was just going to change the batteries in a couple of old watches, now I have a dozen watches, half I built.😂

The only thing stoping me from building more is my wife😂 I actually got parts to make another blackout build, only need to buy a movement (NH36 because the dial have day date cut out). I saw a dial for NH35 with outer space design and has lume. Really interested to build one, but have to be patient.😅

One of them yes! Nice build! Is the lume as good as the one shown in the picture? Saw some of them in aliexpress and it looks amazing, but not sure if its as good in real life😕

The lume is very impressive. Built that a couple of nights ago. Seiko NH35 movement, black/gold case w/sapphire, Starry Sky dial, black Daytona style bracelet.
🤤this will be my next build then😅 just have to source the dial to my country, not from aliexpress though because they don’t ship to my country😢. But thanks for the confirmations, really help me decide on the next build😁

Are you making a 36mm watch for her? I was looking into a 28mm watch for my wife aswell, but all the dial available in aliexpress have this fake diamond that doesn’t look nice. Been looking for a nicer dial but still couldn’t find it.

Just ordered a 36mm Stainless Oyster Case, Silver Mesh Bracelet, already have a NH35 and , Meteor Dial for it.
Try clicking on one of the stores on AliExpress, they have a bigger selection of dials
