A.T.P. Appreciation Post

Now that its back from a full service, I thought I'd post my Ebel A.T.P.

The W.W.W Dirty Dozen are often described as 'the' Second World War watch, pushing the smaller ATP into obscurity for many. I feel that this does them a disservice as they carry the significance of having been issued to a much greater extent during the war. To my eye they make an excellent wearer today and I'd never part with mine!

Very cool watch. Happy to hear it came back from service. Enjoy

Great looking dial.

I don't know for what A.T.P. stands. I know Ebel existed before the 70's but it is still odd to see one on a Bonklip with small seconds and cathedral hands.

Nobody is actually sure of the meaning of the abbreviation, generally it's accepted to either be 'Army Trade Pattern' or 'Army Time Piece'. These were my first introduction to the brand so I'm going at it backwards such that the thin 90's integrated bracelet models look all wrong to me!

@Mil_Watch_Nut that is a fantastic example of an Ebel. I have a few ATPs within my collection and also wrote an appreciation post for them!

I agree the case sizing may push many away from them, but the price point of them does make them more accessible than a D12 equivalent.

They do feel a bit like a well kept secret, it's scratched my itch for a military watch from that era successfully too so my wallet is very appreciative of their obscurity!

I am waiting for the popularity to increase, I wonder if they will ever command D12 level of money.
