The new legend diver is perfect, perfect size, perfect design. So leave it to me to find a fault and then try and DIY my way out of it.
The bigger question: With pricing like this, is Longines coming after the all mighty Tudor?
Merry Christmas y'all ๐๐

With many recent releases a a higher price point, yes I think Tudor is definitely the target.

I remember when longines used to be had for 1200. They must've caught whatever ORIS had ๐

Can you see a brand Swatch might be lining up to backfill that market?
I tried on the Legend Diver last week. It does look awesome.

Good question, I think plenty like Nivada Gretchen are trying, but I can't spell their name so it's gonna be a hard sell

Wears so well ๐
Well, I think that many watch factories are going after Tudor, not only Longines but Oris and others.
Longines isn't going after Tudor, they already outsell Tudor by a large margin...
If anything I suspect Tudor wishes they had Longines sales numbers.
Vertex Aqualion for the win!
Yes, you did. I reckon the paint job is reversible though ๐ค

We are talking price tier, but total sales

I sanded the tip so probably not ๐
Adding red to the seconds hand was the right way to go. Looks awesome
I consider myself a shallow person as I never look on the inside,๐คฃ itโs all about the esthetics for me as well!
Love that red tip, brave move but works.
Not sure if Longines can every truely compete with Tudor but it can try to grab the low bearing fruit.
Thank you for this app, itโs been a ๐ฅ
Happy Holidays Max๐
Yep, the red tip does the trick, nicely done! ๐
There is nothing wrong with modding your own watch if you never plan to sell it. The only issue is when you try to sell it and price it like a watch that hasn't been opened and tinkered with by an untrained amateur.
My local Longines AD told me that Longines is now only going into stores that already carry Tudor. That he couldnโt be a Longines AD if he tried to today. Longines definitely wants to take out Tudor.
Hey @Max ! Love your videos. Even I want to mod my Timex Marlin Chronograph Hands to Pencil type like on Q Chronograph or other timex chronograph...or its grand father carrera heuer chronograph....Can you please help me if its possible? My local watchmaker told me "its not possible as every watch has different movement and hole diameter"

Unfortunately if the movements are different, I'd have to agree with your watchmaker...

How can I find similar movement to Marlin Chronograph? To exchange watch hands? And The watchmaker didnt even check the watch before saying this. Thanks for your quick response!

My guess is have Longines go after Tudor to keep Tudor off Omega. Swatch Group doing all they can Iโm sure.
Well I thought @Max was crazy, but the end result is superb ๐คฉ
Dunno about going after Tudor, should imagine that they just want to increase their market share regardless of who they steal sales from (as long as outside the Swatch group, obviously)
Reason I say not specifically Tudor is because I can see them raising prices and climbing the tiers.๐ค
Just out of curiosity. Did the paint on the tip of the seconds hand made watch run slower or faster? It looks great!

Not this little bit, no

#rado ?
#rado ?
Possibly. Would be logical given their current price point but would require quite a shift in offerings, as Rado are pretty unique? I often think Tissot and Certina fish in the same pond, but no real sign either is shifting into this space.
Merry Christmas, Max!
