Solid or display?

How do you like your watches backside?.....oh not like that you freak!

Are you more of a solid caseback type, where it may give you some spec listing and a slick design that leaves a stamp on your wrist? Or, are you the type like likes to see what goes on under the hood? Or, you don't care and find this poll to be pointless and want me to stop asking such silly questions. To which I say.....you're still going to answer the poll, so who's laughing now!?

Depends on the watch. I don’t need to see an ETA, SW-200, 4R35, or Powermatic 80.

Omega case backs are great. Show me those chronographs! And although the Oris Cal 400 is nothing special, love that when you position the rotor just so, the movement looks like the face of the Oris bear.

An open caseback is really nice to have but it's not a deal breaker on some watches. For example, I wouldn't buy a GO without an open caseback but I'd definitely buy a JLC with without one. A Grand Seiko I would go either way. My PRX has a open caseback and I don't really care it there. It's really case by case decision.

If the movement looks like this...then don't hide it...

Unless the movement has been decorated I will vote solid. Solid often shaves a little bit off the height of the watch which can influence what straps it wear well with.

I appreciate the movements no matter what they are, I’m no snob like some people. It’s very interesting to me how someone made these tiny little cogs and screws to put them together still fascinates me…

I don't agree with your choices, for me, it depends on the movement. If it's most ETAs, Sellitas or Seikos, I'd rather not see it. If it's nicely decorated, then it deserves a presentation back.

Depends on the watch, & also the level of experience of the owner....

...for me, yes I love to see my Co-axial movement (after all that's primarily why I purchased it) but I'm not so fussed about seeing another 6r Seiko - but seeing a plain undecorated unpretentious little machine working away is what gets a lot of folks hooked in the first place. 🤗

Show me the back. Beautiful or not. :)
