Timex

My uncle found this Timex close to 40 years ago in the dirt on a old farm in Northern Maine. He gave it to my dad when he was a teenager. My dad sewed the cammo straps on and wore it while doing work as a carpenter. My dad dug it out this Christmas after I showed him one of my new watches. We gave it a wind and it still kept decent time. It now has a special spot in the drawer of my watch box. I think its the M25 movement if anyone knows any other details on this era of timex I'd really like to learn

Amazing it still runs - nice find!

"Keeps on ticking"

A new crystal would make that pop. The dial looks very good underneath.

Fantastic. It takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.

I've got one exactly the same. It's a little small but I like it.

You'll need a magnifying glass or loupe preferably but at the bottom of the dial there will be some numbers and letters. Google it and it will tell you the movement and year of manufacture.

I've checked but I think it is one of the rare instances that timex didn't put a number on the dial.

Looks like a mercury! There are still some cool old timex models floating around at flea markets in New England. Timex was founded in CT, and I believe is still headquartered a few towns over from me.

Very nice. I have my great uncles old Timex. It appears to be the same era.

New Crystal and whatever service it needs and you have a precious heirloom to pass on to the next generations.

That could mean it's pre 1965 I believe then.

Definitely worth a service and new crystal. Looks sweet.
