B&M Classima 10330M Christmas/Graduation Gift?

So I started working as a Watch and Jewellery Sales person recently, and I’ve stumbled across Baumé & Mercier while I started working in my store in South Australia.

I wanted something I could wear with a suit, but not too fancy and too striking. Something that can be an everyday piece when I’m not working. Was initially thinking of getting a Zulutime GMT, but now Baumé & Mercier Classima has caught my attention.

I like both models, but right now I’m starting to lean into the chronograph model of the Classima. What are your thoughts lads? Is this the trigger to pull or should I keep looking around?

P.s: My store sells Longines, Tissot, Baumé & Mercier, Edox, and Rado. We also do Tag Heuer but online only. Looking to buy something my store sells, but open for other brands as well to wear while I’m not at work. Price point I’m willing to put in is around 2k-3.5k USD.

What's the thickness of the case? Looks classy and super neat!

Since you retail B&M, have you looked at any of the brand’s Baumatic line of watches? The reviews have always been good, not sure if the Classica line are fitted with the same in house movements but I recently picked up the 5 day Moonphase Baumatic with a grey dial and blue croco strap, is not the sort of timepiece I wear daily but would be proper for more formal or dress occasions. Additionally I believe the brand is under rated but offers value horology.

I think it’s 13.2mm. Chunky little boy, but somehow, it feels right because it’s a Chronograph.

Unfortunately they don’t come with the Baumatic movements. Those are only for the top range Riveriea pieces and their flagship the Clifton. Both a bit out of my price range

You do not receive an employee discount? Sorry, I have only returned recently to B&M watches not quite up to date with the product info. My regular ad alerted me to a limited edition Riviera that is being launched later this year with a perpetual calendar Moonphase in house movement that interests me and was my reason for buying the 5 day Baumatic Moonphase to guage the quality. My last B&M watch was from 20 years ago, haha. Take care, good luck with your decision.

I just spoke to one of their reps today. I realised I’m getting a different discount compared to the full time workers which is a bit weird (I’m a casual - not by choice) and they get a bigger discount than I do. I can probably negotiate or just ask my manager to get it on my behalf. That said, still a lot to spend for the Baumatic movements. Regarding the Moonphase, we don’t have that in stock, but I definitely get it if a customer wants. Just got to do some back orders and I think HQ in Sydney will send us. It’s limited to 500 pieces world wide. Or 1000. Forgot the exact numbers.

5K Aussie, which is about 3160 USD. I do get employee discount, not sure what’s the exact amount because I need to go through with B&M.

Baume & Mercier are sort of old school horology, have suffered quite a few lean years but I was very impressed with the baumatic movement when it was introduced a few years ago. I hope that you are treated with the proper respect with regards to an employee discount. It was a million years ago during my uni days but did work retail and without discounts we could not support the merchandise that we were expected to sell. My regular multi brand tells me the Riviera perpetual Moonphase will be limited to 50 pieces worldwide but while it will be inexpensive for a perpetual calendar going to be still around 25k cad a lot for B&M, lol. Best!!
