I’ve gifted many many watches to people for certain reasons, presents, surprises and a few to people that had a real passion for a certain model that I had in my collection that didn’t get much wrist time.
But
For the purposes of this poll, it’s assumed people build a collection with their own funds I’m afraid
IMO people ‘baby them’ too much. They are made to be worn any enjoyed, the same as any watch, no point hiding them away in the safe.
There isn’t a Rolex model I own that I wouldn’t wear on a day to day basis, they are much more durable than people think. The only possible exception being my 1908 but that’s purely down to the watch being on a leather strap that isn’t as durable in certain conditions to a steel or precious metal
Try and do it direct through Brietling or their boutiques. Going through an AD like goldsmiths will take much longer as it has to be processed through thier systems as well as Brietlings
