While down in Cape Town visiting my parents my Dad decided it was time to gift me his Seiko Day/Date that was purchased by him in 1973. Still runs, although I will send it in for a service. Amazing condition as its been in the safe since the 80โs ๐ Where you handed down any watches? If so post below ๐

My dad decided that after 70 some years of scuffing up watches he would henceforth only scuff up phones.
Love sentimental watches. LOVE!
My grandfatherโs Citizen.
disappeared for a while but itโs back.
Stunning blue Seiko mate, I love these old models. I once had a vast collection of them but after gifting and selling them all I've only got one left, the one I bought myself back in the 70's still sits in my watch box today and still works great.
That's lovely. I'd offer to service it for you but I'm a long way from Cape Town ๐

Im live in Zurich ;) but unlikely your any closer ๐คฃย
Gorgeous and classy looking old Seiko. ย ๐ ย Looks very restorable if not keeping time well.
Re: my own hand me downs: got that covered in spades! (though sadly don't own dads old 1016)
Great grandfather's grandfather clock from Amlech England (hand made, keeps perfect time ๐ฎ)
My Gramdpa's 1954 Vadis automatic, keeps good time but also thinking to service. ย Not sure what to do the the weird band on it but no obvious way to remove it. ย Beside it is my great uncles (that same grandfathers brother) 1934 Rolex OP. ย Both are automatics with screw crowns. ย Baller watches of yesteryear. ย Fun to have a few golden oldies in the collection!
