New "Manhattan 37" by Maen

Maen belongs to the small group of micro brands that I actually like. At first glance, their newest offering could, of course, be easily sniffed at for being yet another Nautiloak. However, it's got some beautiful and original detailing on both case and bracelet. There's geneva-style striping on the dial (!) and most of all: IT'S 37mm!!

Waiting for the first reviews before I come to a final conclusion, but... I'm tempted.

My personal desires never wanted the Nautiloak look. I love the dial, but not a fan of the Nautilus bezel and crystal shape. Love the bracelet, but not that it’s integrated. Love the minute track and indices, but not the hour and minute hands. This one is on the fence with me.

Thanks for sharing!

The real beauty of the Nautilus and Aquanaut are in the finishing details, and based on the photos from their website, the finishing on these looks pretty damn nice. I've signed up for notifications, and look forward to seeing the reviews, because I'm really tempted as well.

If it had standard lugs, and came on leather, I'd be tempted to pick one up as a dressy/casual watch.

I'm not big on bracelets, but I do like the dial and case shape otherwise.

I really like this. I want a BR-05 but realistically I'm not going to shell out US5k for one. This comes really close. Too bad it's too small.

·

The 37mm is quite nice. I’d be interested to see the reviews on the finishing. I think there last release was far more interesting than this - which appears to be pretty much a homage piece… which is not a bad thing but it seems the pool is full of these lately.

Wow, that looks good. However, a butterfly clasp on an integrated bracelet is a no-no for me. The clasp release buttons digging into my wrist are no fun at all. And adjustment only by removing links sucks, it's a far cry from being enough.

Yep, thats my one big gripe with this one. The renderings also show no signs of half-links.

I wish they had a green dial.

@maenwatchesjules is there any plans in the works for a rubber strap or a green dial?

·

We are working on a rubber strap that will hopefully be available later this year. A green dial is not in the planning for the 37mm Manhattan.

·

@maenwatchesjules any word on adjustment? Are there half-links included with the watch?

·

We do not have half links available for the Manhattan 37 at this moment. The links are small on the bracelet so we have not had any issues with adjusting the bracelet to any preferred size.
