Never meet your idols

Went to try this bad boy on yesterday when I first seen release pictures review videos I was sold, thought they had finally made the spring drive for me nearly put a deposit down without even trying on,massive price tag for me and glad I didn't beautiful watch love the dial love the movement hands finishing everything's good, felt extremely light which isn't a deal breaker for me,always wondered about the case shape and even though its a 38mm and fits and looks fine on wrist it's very rounded and for me takes a bit of the refinement out of it,plus think I'm getting boring in my old age starting to prefer none textured dials, think I'd take a vintage 4420 900 44gs plain silver dial over it 🙄😬have I gone mad textured dials were my thing snowflakes my guy what's happening to me help 🤣

Wow! Some words at the start were so jumbled, I thought you might be having a stroke. 😅

I feel the same as you about the textured dials. I much prefer their plain and simple dials and let their finishing shine.

Yeah, I was disappointed when I handled a Panerai. Seemed crude.

Had a couple of Seiko's with flashy dials, very nice but I didn't keep them.....

So, you didn’t buy it. Correct? And nothing wrong with you taste changing I think that’s plenty normal for human beings as we travel through time change in all aspects is inevitable

Our preferences are so subjective and therefore subject to change. There’s no right or wrong to it. I tend to try to analyze mine too, but sometimes I just like a watch or don’t, and I don’t know why. But I’ve come to accept that I don’t have to know why. It is what it is. I either like it or don’t. It’s just that simple. Just roll with it. If you don’t like it, then you don’t like it. Don’t over-analyze it.

It took me a very long time to buy my first Grand Seiko watch but little time to appreciate its best attributes, waited to source their brilliant spring drive movement mostly because I do not like titanium, feels insignificant on my wrist. A brand that I have been a fan of for decades is Breitling which might be the opposite of Grand Seiko in design language, generally performs poorly with content people on YouTube which I discovered briefly during the global pandemic but realize is a waste of my time. During my most recent visit to my regular multi brand ad to pick up a new watch, I chatted with the young owner about a next purchase between a GS spring drive in steel or a ceramic Breitling launched recently is very appealing to me. He promises to bring in both from his larger suburban location for me to check out this coming Tuesday with no pressure to decide or buy. I have been an enthusiast for most of my life but still regard watches as merely a casual affectation, my life is not greatly affected when certain watches disappoints or overwhelms me.

I'm a fan of breitling first luxury purchase was a superocean chronograph loved it and think might add 38mm navitimer one day,I'm on my second GS love the brand and its not a massive deal for me just expected to be enthused to buy it more after trying on all this means for me is I can pick another two three watches to get than just this one 🤣positives always my friend 👌

I went to an Oris dealer to buy the Kermit Pro Pilot, but after trying it on and handling it, I wound up with the Breitling Super Ocean Heritage. I wanted that Oris so bad, and just wasn't feeling it when I put it on.

I was not being disrespectful, since joining Watch Crunch realize that many members take the hobby much more seriously than I do. It is not a criticism just an observation. Have a perfect day my good man!

Shame about the watch, not everything works for everyone ig

Also a few tips to help your posts be more readable:

  1. Spaces after the commas will make this much more legible

  2. Using full stops instead of commas makes sentences clear and separate instead of reading like one out of breath sentence

  3. Paragraphs make things far more conscise and easy to understand

I had the same reaction. I was convinced the Omiwatari was my ideal. Then I put it on. Just not right. Was just as happy: Saved me $$$.

Had same reaction years ago when I test drove a Tesla Model S. Just didn’t like it. Got happily back into my Kia Sorento. Felt

like I’d saved $80,000.
